Looks like we are going to New York City for Christmas again. Well, wife and daughter are as of today as we managed to use a combination of Southwest gift cards (thanks Amex Platinum!) and, please sit down, Mrs. TBB burned all her Skymiles for two one way tickets back to Detroit! About 360k Delta miles to go, can’t wait! I have now burned 798,371 in 2015 to date after burning over 1 million in 2014 #winning. Nope, I did not have it in me to call US Bank for that missing free night on behalf of Mrs. TBB….I know the wait is excruciatingly long…just could not do it! Me and son need to find our way there…we have time!

I get a lot of crap thrown at me. I am used to it, it comes with the territory online. And you know that I don’t read blogs anymore that are in the Ignore list. The only two I subscribe and at least look over is View From the Suite and Once Upon a Time which I tend to continue to ignore about 96% of the time still. But sometimes I look at some tweets that come my way because some of these blogs are on a few Twitter lists I have. And then BANG, I was minding my own business playing around with some dates from yet another super deal from TheFlightDeal and I get hit by a tweet over at Frugal Travel Guy with a misleading headline that led to a bunch of the crappy affiliate links you see below at a day when the blogosphere is reeling with the mega Amex offers (see on top of this post). And then I get yelled at for repeating my tweets and you guys don’t say anything about this crap…shaking my head. There, I feel better!
Blogging can be insanely time consuming sometimes. Help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $$ links. Thank you.

These new early morning postings have me jostling between checking TBB for the day’s new post, and going over to see how the stock market futures look.
I was thinking maybe TBB could combine the two to get more hits. Why not have the front page of TBB show stock market futures prior to 9:30 Eastern. Then, at 9:30 when the markets open: BAM-the stock listings switch from futures to actual prices and at the same time, the TBB post of the day lands, ready for comments.

Wanted to do it over Christmas holidays…I gave up and we are going to NYC. Official school calendar is not out yet, I don’t know when. I wanted to fly on that Australia V airline in Business class. May take another crack at it soon for sometime next year.
Saw the American Express Platinum offer yesterday and got the offer on the first try of private browsing. I’m on the fence on whether or not to pull the trigger, but 100,000 points is a pretty sweet deal for $450 and 3K spend. Some people reported calling in for the offer when their multiple attempts at private browsing failed. Calling in seemed to work and if you go the online route, make some screenshots of the offer to cover your behind.
I think the offer is great. I just used some of them Southwest gift cards I got for the $200 airline credit from getting it earlier this year. If you do it now you can have two of these $200 credits! One of my clients who is NOT into the miles game but flies Delta for work asked me about it and I told him to go for it. Hey, you can cash out for gift cards right away (not recommended) but it shows how good this offer is!
