It appears the retention offer for the Fairmont Visa is standard: 5,000 Fairmont points for $1,000 spend within 90 days.
There was some stuff going on with the ever appearing, ever disappearing Amex Gift Cards from shopping portals. Top Cash Back pulled a fast one on many MS hobbyists by only allowing the full cash back at denominations not higher than just a pathetic $200. So, folks, you know the drill. Read the Terms & Conditions, come on! And bloggers better read them before they blog out something fast to be…First! Besides, being First in the TBB comments is the only First that counts #zing Looks like some other portals took the AGCs down later in the day…They will be back…maybe. If not, blame the bloggers lol.
23 Wedding portraits in unbelievable landscapes around the world. At Twisted Sifter. The pictures are totally awesome. This is why this site is in the TBB Love list!
The Trans-Mongolian Railroad. At Roads and Kingdoms. Love this type of travel reports, no Hyatts to be seen anywhere lol.
We will soon have a suspended all-glass “skypool” in London, wow!
World record of cliff jumping. With a GoPro. Nuts!
A visualization of the 2153 nuclear weapons exploded on Earth since 1945. At kottke.org. This is just stunning to watch! Why in the hell do we keep nuking ourselves like this?
The best investment strategy for you? It’s the one you ‘re likely to stick with. Excellent article at the Washington Post.
This guy hacked Starbucks to get a free coffee every day. Shaking my head…
And I leave you to ponder this…

Hey, I had already had 2 cups of coffee and logged off by the time you posted. Please post before 7:00 am. Thank you.
The TransMongolian Railway is now on the bucket list. Roads and Kingdoms is a nice website, too.

I now usually post at 6.30 am EST. But the pace may be disrupted due to increased work load, something about them jitters in the financial markets you know.
The TransMongolian Railways has been on my bucket list for ever. And it will likely stay there for a long time it appears.
Roads and Kingdoms is a quality travel website. Some of the stuff that it appears there is awesome, most of it is good to great but a few posts here and there you wonder what the hell happened that got through!

The Starbucks “hack” has occurred to me before, and I’m sure to many others as well, but it’s just not cool.

So if it’s fraud, as indicated by Starbucks at the end of the article, why can’t the barista call HQ and have a dude come over and have a talk? Or are they waiting for the fraud to cross a certain level so it’s admissible in court? Also if the barista is so annoyed, he could muck up the sequence 🙂

There are some weird baristas working there 🙂
