Thank you again for keeping up this blog, it’s a pleasure to read it — two posts in one day (was it on Thursday?) threw me in for the loop, I kept on checking over and over and over and over to see if post #3 would come up, are you sure I was not the reason for 25% web traffic bump? LOL. 😉
I completed my Tour ‘de Tokyo last week — always a pleasure to fly JAL. So everyone at the Conrad were talking about this “American George”, something about hoarding toy bears, spending time in the lounge, consuming large quantities of food at the restaurant. I kind of wish I was there at the same time as you, too bad we missed each other by a couple of weeks. I did end up eating sushi at 6am at the market most of my days, what a great way to start out a day. Too bad it won’t be that close to the Conrad next time I am there, I guess the Olympic Village will be done in about 4 years, so something new to see.
20 Cognitive Biases chart should be reviewed by everyone, especially in our hobby — as we do get anchored in the same ideas and have a tendency to have groupthink on all of these “value” propositions and what exactly miles/points mean to us.
I had a CSR at BofA ask me why I have had over 30 credit card with the bank in the last 2 years (that’s as far as he could see in his system), fair question — I just had to explain I like to fly and enjoy getting miles, and my credit score is in 780+, so please process another one — and well — he did.

I was not impressed by JAL Business at all. I only got a few bears at the Conrad. Excellent property, wow. Great use of the 2 Reserve free nights. But at 80k…ouch. Especially when I compare it to the 10k Doubletree KL 🙂
Never got to see the auction. 2 out of the four mornings it was closed, one I was just late for it and the last one I said phuck it!

This reminds me of a younger more agitated Buzz from TBB (that’s you George) who would go on daily rants about Milevalue (endless lie flat F/C pictures of himself) and DeltaPoints (miss that feud) and MMS (pics of Emily). Now those were the days my friend, I thought they would never end.

I miss those days too. These days I go off a little bit on Twitter when some of these blogs pop up there.
I have NOT been back to DeltaPoints for years….That is just way too offensive material and life is too short for that. Not Milevalue either. MMS I may click on the Friday interview just to see which desperate blogger still does those.
I eat my own cooking. They are in the Ignore list. I get Lucky’s daily digest and scan it. I get Leff’s posts in email and scan them. One out of 20 I will read. That’s IT!
I know you guys miss that phase but I had to cut it short…because it affected my health. I am sticking with eclectic stuff to share which takes the entertainment factor a bit lower I know…But health always comes before entertainment…Even though sometimes they could go together—->Twitter compromise.

Citi Prestige is getting pumped like a mofo this week b/c they have been asked to remove their affiliate links next week. The bloggers are saying the sign on bonus will probably go to zero as a means of generating more sales.
What would be awesome is if the bonus actually went up but the bloggers didn’t get links. They pumped up the benefits for months. Citi could ride on those recommendations, increase the sign up bonus and then sell the card directly so they don’t have to pay $250 for each referral.

This happened before and I was ranting out loud to anyone who got the card (and then there was a HIGHER bonus) to contact these plastic pushers and ask for the extra miles/points. Yeahh…not happened 🙂
