Get used to less upgrades as airlines are shifting towards more enticing pricing for First Class tickets. This is how United does it…
Booking hotels direct seems to be all the rage lately. Here is a summary of the discounts, perks and restrictions of the hotel companies offering it.
Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, in 360 degree virtual reality tour.
I find the Japanese to be kind of weird. Did you know you can “rent men” who are paid to just listen. Hope they do this for more than 31 cents—-what my blog earned yesterday. Lol or WTF, whatever you prefer! Or Both!
How the internet was invented. Fascinating read. It all started at Rossotti’s, a California beer garden.
Your personal finance read of the day: Spot the Red Flags. Good advice on how to avoid scams! Maybe I should do one for blogs ๐

A review of Kickfurther. This is NOT for newbies, this is why I put it here. I lost interest when I read this…”Kickfurther charges a 1.5% fee to withdraw the paid back funds to your bank account.” But it could work for some of you needing to meet min spends quickly and can afford to wait to get paid.
The hobby can only be saved by a steep recession. Amazingly, bloggers seem to keep fighting to preserve their target market. And The Points Guy manages to…Why would HR invite a speaker to sell credit cards is beyond me!
Some blogs in Boarding Area are a piece of work, wow!
Amazing how stuff appearing here ends up elsewhere!
I think I may add a description of each blog in my infamous Blogs To Ignore list just so I can stop wasting my time with them and be…positive ๐ย Somebody needs to educate the newbies! Can you imagine all the clicks I could get if I kissed their asses? Even View From the Wing could throw me a bone once a year lol.
Political conventions always turned me off. Preaching to the choir. What a giant waste of resources! I wish all political campaigns were limited to just one month…and save us the endless circus!
And I leave you with this…Some MSer did this to take revenge for changing their gift card sales policy…
Please help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $ links, thank you!

I will dedicate yesterday’s revenue of $3.41 cents to the Medals “Bucket”. One day when TPG buys me out I will get you the medals you earned here. Ok, I am laughing…

I’m surprised you even mention Kickstarter. Doesnt even seem like a risky thing you’d even step into? Why lead people down that path. Seems like a way to get screwed out of money w little upside at all.

I agree, I walked out of that salesoffice after the first paragraph.

Guys, I think I made the necessary warnings! I get emails bitching how some can not do any MS type activity to get min spends done, this is another option. Not for me or you.
Plus it was a slow day in general and needed some material. The Blog Buzz sections is NOT for newbies and I think I made it clear. FM also has a lot of the same language as well.
Thanks for the feedback.

Great post, good link to Hilton FAQ, I still think the program has a lot to offer. In U.S., I get upgraded to amazing rooms when I book on points and write to General Manager a week out. They always treat us well, give presents to our kids, little perks like free breakfast, gym, wifi — we really do like staying at Hiltons in U.S. while traveling. Outside of U.S. they also provide nice benefits, with Exec Lounges — Conrads are nice. Anyway, thank you Amex Surpass and $40k/year in spending for that Diamond Status.
Speaking of Amex. I finally downloaded TOR Browser, got my IP reset a few times, and BAM — 25,000pt offers on Gold (not Premier Gold) and Green cards showed up. Add Ameriprise Gold into the mix, that’s 75,000pts for $3,000 in spending total, these are all 3 charge cards, so auto approvals for all 3 in 1 day, don’t count against your 4 card limit. Just keep on rolling, will get some Home Depot gift certificates out of it.
Cheers,
PedroNY

Yeah, Hiltons always treated us very well. I have always felt differently at SPG properties, like they are doing me a favor for letting me stay in their properties.
I just think the devaluations have really damaged the program big time. I can’t believe I spent 80k per night at the Tokyo Conrad, should have saved them after the 2 free Reserve nights (now THAT’s a great value!)
TOR Browser…hmm, is this a new browser, never heard of it? I should get us the Ameriprise cards but got way too much going on, including replying to comments here lol.
PedroNY says
TOR has been around for a very long time. The log is the Onion. I believe Edward Snowden made it more popular — or at least there was a lot of talk about it at the time he used it.
I just like an “easy” way of getting a new IP, so Amex gives me those nice offers, it works like a charm, and Chrome Incognito does not always work for me.
Cheers,
PedroNY

PedroNY says
It started out like a normal week for the Ameriprise Amex Gold product manager, hoping to expand the product line and user base by 10% YoY and fingers crossed to get that bonus tied to new account signups in Q3 of 2016 — 96 hours later, a reddit post here, a blog comment there, another blog comment, another blog post; and BOOM! the Product Manger is getting promoted to a Senior Product Manager, getting a nice pay bump, and nice bonus and going to Aruba for a vacation this winter.
Everyone wins here… well maybe not AMEX shareholders.
Cheers,
PedroNY

Aruba…that was too funny!
