Can you help me get to Fiji with them? I have no idea why I am stuck with the idea of visiting Fiji lately…
Even more details on the coming new premium Chase Sapphire Premium Reserve card. To newbies: We get cards primarily for the mega signing bonuses! Whether to keep it after the first year is up to you…we don’t keep that many going forward! But recently Chase has implemented some stricter approval criteria and generally limit most of their card approvals only if you have not had more than ANY five card approvals in the past 24 months. Which pretty much shuts down most of us #sosad. This one will come with a superb 100k signing bonus and we are all praying the 5/24 restriction is not so strict. Probably dreaming…but hey we can always dream! #developing
Speaking about dreams…it is blowing miles after finding award availability on the Etihad A380 Apartment. Maybe I should do this one day but…would rather get several trips to Greece out of it with the same amount of miles and save you all the ooohs and aaahhs and stuff like that. We are all different, please don’t judge! Maybe there is hope, another Etihad A380 flight was added and…

I think savers and spenders should learn to appreciate the other way of life a little more. If you read this blog you are likely a saver. Spend a little more than you usually do on some nice experience and see what it’s like when you don’t always go for the most value-conscious option. Don’t be so afraid of the so-called hedonic treadmill or lifestyle creep. You are already a saver. You won’t be so easily corrupted.

I thought that it was hilarious that Gary had a post about that rumored Sapphire card. He made sure to pump the CSP one, which he thinks is a more exciting card and offer.
Wait until he gets a link for that new one and that will be the new exciting offer du jour.
Hopefully the “rumored” super-snazzy-Titanesque-ultimate-preferred-premium-kryptonite Chase card will have a restriction that it is ONLY available in branches.

Re: Etihad apartment. It was meh. Service was good. Food was ok. Apartment itself was pretty bad. FAs encouraged me to email Etihad with feedback so here’s what I wrote. My friend is friends with whoever is in charge of cabin design so he passed on my feedback that way as well and apparently they are having quite a few issues with their supplier regarding quality of the installation. So yea, once is enough for me. It was cool for the novelty factor but I won’t be burning any more more miles for that.

Flew the Etihad apartment product for the first time on A6-APF. The crew was great – Bruno, Eyerusalem and chef Alex took good care of me with attentive service and great little conversations throughout the flight. They also did a good job with turn down service as well as keeping the cabin and bathrooms clean.
On the other hand, I didn’t feel that the hard product was up to par – sure, the apartment 4K was great and spacious overall, but there were too many little things that became more than just annoyance throughout the flight. The main ones:
– The right side door of the toiletries cabinet would not latch and kept swinging open (and light shining). The same thing happened with the right side door in apartment 3K.
– The headphones storage area door was also not latching most of the time in 4K (had to slam and coerce it into closing every time).
– The noise cancelling headphones were so good that they completely cancelled all sound in the left cup. I had to twist and hold the cord at the plug end to get them to work.
– Neither of the two USB ports in 4K worked (the universal power outlet did work).
– Sliding doors in both 4K and 3K were sliding open on their own throughout the flight.
All of these should be fairly minor fixes and would ensure that the little things like that won’t mar otherwise outstanding product you provide on the A380.
Wow…I also wanted to burn some for the novelty of it all…but now I think I am more than okay saving them miles for more trips!
