And before I go on, you should be earning a bonus of 50,000 points on the Amex Gold Card. Any blogger (or person) that tells you it’s 25,000 is either interested in making money off of you OR not informed enough to know that there’s a better offer. In either case, that blogger/person is someone you should look to avoid going forward since they’re not truly interested in helping you.
Looks like Milevalue blog has a new owner. What ever happened to that dude Scott who had made a promise not to ever post a credit card offer that was not the best offer. Yeah, that did not last that long. Based on the info there now, apparently it is the only blog that thinks systematically about miles. What???

I have been winning some Marriott Rewards points with its game. 50 pts usually. I had a 1,000 point winner once.
I was very surprised that my points from a Marriott property stay posted pretty fast.

We took the Caledonian from Edinburgh to London a couple of years ago. It’s an overnight train and we paid up for first class.
Really poor experience. They swapped out new equipment for old-our cabin had poor lighting and cold air we couldn’t shut off. The bathroom had standing water and the club car was filled with businessmen getting hammered.
One thing they were good at was not issuing compensation-I had to pull teeth all summer to get a few bucks back. I believe the Scotland rail company has now hired a new contractor due to start in a couple of years.
I would read recent reviews on this and other rail trips. They all sound romantic and great but you need to see which ones deliver more than brochures.
Enough mirth-is this really first?
