The Best of Web posts are much shorter in length with material that is a notch or two above what you see in the regular TBB posts. It also gives me a short break midweek because I need it. Here is another post with five links about the fall of the ridiculous Gucci Master Hushpuppi, how a baggage handler stole an airplane in the Seattle airport and crashed it, we go deeper into the WeWork BS with the other half of the founders and you won’t believe what your eyes see next, some tech dude found a loophole with Xbox gift cards and greed took over and hello jail and finally an article to learn all you can about Wall Street whistleblowers and how the program works.

The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master
Let me just say that this clown showing off his amazing life on Instagram had it coming. He is in jail right now and he is expected to stay there for many years. Be suspicious of clowns online, don’t fall for their crap, just sickening! Archive.is link. Not going to excerpt anything but I must warn you that you may feel rage reading this…
The Sky Thief
This is a great story written about that baggage handler in Seattle who stole an airplane and went for a ride only to crash it and kill himself. You may feel a little sad reading it like I did. Something snapped and just went for it. We all still probably remember this story but this is an article about him that reveals personal stuff and I must admit he was a really nice dude, sad! How did Beebo Russell — a goofy, God-fearing baggage handler — steal a passenger plane from the Seattle-Tacoma airport and end up alone in a cockpit, with no plan to come down?
How Billionaire Rebekah Neumann Put the Woo-Woo in WeWork
Are you sensing a theme in my blog to show contempt for ridiculous people who screw even more ridiculous people for believing their shit? Well, yes! The wife of WeWork’s founder Adam Neumann carved out her own little space as a New Age exec—and the company’s downfall isn’t slowing her. Be careful out there, they are not probably not done yet!
You know, money changes people…
As the company’s valuation soared, so did the Neumanns’ dreams. Adam said he wanted to build a WeWork on Mars and be president of the world. He wanted to solve the problem of hunger and help orphans find families. “We want to create a whole WeWorld where everybody is unified and happy and together,” Rebekah said in 2018.
Robbing the Xbox Vault: Inside a $10 Million Gift Card Cheat
Maybe today my post is dedicated to scammers? Another dude who could not stop until he was caught and will likely spend years in jail. You know, maybe if Bitcoin was not around most of this shit will stop? Oh, and be careful about gift cards out there too! Archive.is link.
What It’s Really Like to Be a Wall Street Whistleblower
If you ever wanted to learn more about how the whistleblower program works, this is the article! SEC’s Office of the Whistleblower has splashed out nearly a billion dollars in its cash-for-tips program. But it’s not for the faint of heart. I hope the guy who is featured in it who stopped a hedge fund fraudster finally gets his due! Maybe I should turn my blog into a crusade against scammers and fraudsters?
Enjoy the reading, say no to clickbait!
And I leave you with this…
Thank you for reading my blog. If you enjoy it please pass it on to a family member or friend, thank you!

Good morning, Buzz. Sleeping off the long weekend and hazy dreams of blocked soccer shots, eh?
Meanwhile, Amex Platinum and Chase Sapphire Reserve are bumping fees thru the roof. My calculations show my Platinum is economic to me for another year, so until then I can still wait 30 minutes to get into a lounge with ok food and kids running around. After that I’ll have to stay on the concourse with pretty good food and kids running around. No wait to get in but of course no status so I’ll hang my head in shame.
Have you thought of having an “In Memoriam” edition of TBB dedicated to the pumping blogs that no longer exist or are ghosts of their former selves? You could have interviews with founders like Ingy, René and of course Darius and Emily (together again).
You might even have a live event (or as Ingy would call it, a ‘do’) with panels on subjects like “5 in One Day-Why Not 10?” and a look back session “WTF Happened?”. Helping put the do together could be former TPG writers, though to keep the crowd manageable, only the first 20 or so to apply would get to join.
Is there any research on how long it took for the general public to realize that Green Stamps aren’t really worth anything?
Finally, it is truly amazing that the blog started and run in large part to spotlight the many card selling hucksters is still thriving after they are for the most part forgotten. As President Obama put it, the arc of history bends toward justice (though I think he was speaking in another context).

Can there be a side stage featuring Boarding Area blogs that should be put out of their misery?

Good morning!
Particularly wild links today!
Sam’s ideas are great! The In Memoriam section would be terrific.

I was about to suggest that you could follow up on the numerous ” The Million Mile Secrets Interview(s)” where everyone started a blog to “help their family earn points”. Apparently all of those have been 404’d. Your daughter did a great job collecting information about active blogs. Many more probably died “due to COVID”.

@ Sam: Thanks a lot for the funny comment, I needed it! Especially after seeing how View From The Amex Suite was pumping the inferior Platinum card offer, getting called on it in the comments and of course ignoring while all fan boys and girls were commenting like he is, well, a travel thought leader. And REALLY especially after checking my own conversions and seeing how in the month of July this blog has brought in absolutely ZERO dinero. Thank God for the day job but…man, doing this for almost nine years is now really getting to me 🙂 I should probably get son the Amex Plat just for the initial bang…but I am still pissed off at them for not giving him a Delta card and then getting lawyers to draft a two page response in our CFPB complaint! Having said all that, I am close to three quarters of a million miles/points burned to date and I am still north of 4 million in the bank so I guess it is what it is 🙂
Love your ideas but…already at zero I just don’t feel any motivation man. Besides, I committed to Nick to finally do my Tehran trip report…oh crap, how am I going to do that!
Oh, can RV make the MMS epitaph final or will they let it up there like FTG like a zombie site?
@ DML: I mixed it up today, heavy on the anti scam feeling…
@ Bill: You know, I did take a look there just last week…just to see what is going on…and OMG, there are so many dead ones there or just barely alive I wonder why they even exist. Then I remember BA is all about page views and I guess if they are not up there there will not be any page views—> $.
@ABC: HUGE game tonight. Italy vs Spain. I am going with pasta. Yeah, she did a great job but not showing any more interest. But she did book her first SW flight using the Companion Pass!
Carl Pietrantonio says
Wheee! Top notch posts today! Great stuff, man! Italy VS Spain… I always root for Italy, but you can guess why! I’ve found that I read about 3 “travel/points” blogs regularly and this is the best of all! (Awaiting check arrival, of course). Ha! Seriously, a lot of things are now getting so complex as far as MS or whatever that I just do whatever I do and ignore the rest of the stuff going on. It’s easier that way!
I know you might get down about what happens as far as conversions, but this always seems like more of a conversation than a lecture, which so many blogs feel like.
Your work here truly is appreciated, man. I hope you know that deep down!

Do not respond so I can then delete yet another comment of his without deleting yours.
If you knew how many I have deleted…it will shock you.
Definition of a troll who has been told he is no longer welcome here but still comes every day and posts his shit.
Oh, Trump lost. Because he is a loser!
TBBTheDude says
@ Carl: If it wasn’t for comments and emails from readers this blog would have met the same fate as SO many others. I did not start my blog to help my family how to travel for free…they just expect it LOL.
I should start giving out prizes for being FIRST in conversions. Maybe a stock tip or one of my numerous ducks I snagged in Conrads and the Frankfurt First Class Terminal 😉
What a game, I am having pasta tonight! This Italy team is not our father’s Italy…even thought they did look a bit tired and was afraid Spain would score another one.

Love this line…(from first article)
targets, often referred to as “magas,” local slang that translates roughly as “gullible marks”
Translates well to the USA, huh?

TBB blog revenue month to date: ZERO With so many 100k cc offers to boot…
Meanwhile, Renes Points, sorry, Eye of the Tiger, I mean, of the Flyer posted this am:
WATCH: Passenger Pours Water on a Bare Foot Using His Armrest as a Footstool
I need to take a break here. Maybe I should turn my blog to target magas Bluecat.
I need to reevaluate and embrace my inner Mile Nerd and slow down here

Well, Denmark lost in OT, they looked spent in the end.
Italy vs England in the Final, should be a classic.
I have lost interest to continue here. Mostly because this blog made $0 this month so I am already losing money. So, I am focusing on a new client (son of a current client who made me do it lol) because someone has to pay the bills and you all are carded out I guess.
I will get back here…I think…some day.
TBBTheDude says
Wow, that goes way back. The author still reads my blog!
Ok, there should be a post tomorrow.
Still looking for first conversion/donation this month, SAD!
