I am going to keep this post very short as life is really catching up to me. There have been some recent developments that are making me reconsider what the hell I am still doing here. This was started as a joke and apparently is still a joke π
Korean SkyPass Cheat Sheet For Using Your Miles. Very solid post, everything you wanted to learn about the topic is here. Still impressed by MileCards, a commercial site that provides great content and does not pump its readers with so many blue affiliate links like these blogs! #respect
Running With Miles has a good post about affiliate links and how they really work behind the scenes. Very educational. My site never had the direct affiliate links, for the record. I am proud to say that my content has NEVER been driven by how much money I can make off my readers. Please excuse the once a month Support TBB post and the daily noon tweet. Having said all that, make no mistake. The direct links are the big money maker in this blogging business and how much a blog earns has a direct relationship to how much it pumps said links. Sad but true. Only YOU can effect change, THINK!
Don’t Go to Iran. What a beautiful video! (HT: MileMonster). I can’t wait to get me out of here to explore Iran in October!

And I leave you with this…
Please help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $ links, thank you!

Week-long internet issues to remind me that Paradise ain’t perfect.
Thanks Buzz for the mention last week – those lists always kill me but at least that one didn’t originate with International Living, a sleazy group that PUMPS overpriced real estate to gullible wannabe ex-pats.
If anyone of the TBB’ers is seriously interested in visiting my neck of the woods, contact me through what passes as the management here (;)). I offer free advice, and you get what you pay for, but just like Buzz I’ll give it to you straight with no sugar coating.
Most interesting thing I read over the past week of tin-can-string-internet-connectivity, outside of TBB, was the OC(onversion)aaT post about spending $300 on SWEATPANTS. Oh, the Titandom of it all… Bought and paid for by PUMP PUMP PUMPING…
Happy and safe Sunday. #TBBon

I missed that $300 sweatpants…which is a good thing, thanks for the warning π

I second your opinion on that Iran video, George. Nice. Have fun during your trip.

Rather, third your opinion.

Re: Reevaluating what you are doing here, don’t you usually put out comments like these every couple months? Either spell out that the issue(s) are or pony up and take a break, but stop leading everyone along with the threats.
Girl at a desk says
Yes, yes, I completely agree.
George, it’s your bloggy and you can cry if you wanna–but I think your ‘going-out-of-business’ schtick matches that of my local Persian rug store that’s been that dire for 20 years now. It has become very irritating in both cases–but more so in yours because I otherwise respect you very much.
I really like the public service your blog has provided, and you should be very proud of bringing this issue the attention it deserves.
Have a telethon, a bake sale, a pledge drive, but please stop the whining. It’s lika when you get a lil hair stuck all up in yer teeth or somethin.
TBBTheDude says
>>>>>>>donβt you usually put out comments like these every couple months?
Yes.
>>>>>>>pony up and take a break
conference next week, I will try to stay away!
>>>>>>>stop leading everyone along with the threats.
Lol
>>>>>>>> It has become very irritating in both cases
If you hate it so much, you don’t have to read it you know.
>>>>>>>>I really like the public service your blog has provided
If I had an actual click for every word of support my blog has received, I would not be whining!
>>>>>>>Have a telethon, a bake sale, a pledge drive, but please stop the whining.
You know, if I do something like that, there would be readers accusing me of trying to pump them. Trying to please all…not possible online! And it comes with the territory, I understand it.
So, I blog what I feel like. You don’t have to read it! Getting it out of my system allows me to vent and it helps me to keep going. If not, I would have stopped a long time ago like Drew did. I bet my Amazon link (lol) he would be around if enough readers actually supported him with clicks and not just words of support (which are helpful but not enough to…keep going). I am sure he said one day “Just phuck it, I am done”.
Waiting for that reselling dude to say he is proud he never uses affiliate links…lol.
To everyone who has actually CLICKED to keep a blogger you support going, THANK YOU! To everyone else who did not, go out of your way to do it if you want to see the blog continue. You telling me you supported a non Titan pleases me equally, if not more than telling me you supported TBB!
And enjoy the free content!
Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
And now NBA.
Damn commercials…
Steve says
Ha! So what are the “NEW” recent developments that are making you reconsider then???
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I can’t really post more details, painful private family developments, lets just leave it that way. Continuing the time to devote to TBB sure is not helping!
The above sentence was not a threat by the way π
Nate @YOMADIC says
The internet would not be the same without TBB. Looking forward to meeting you IRL in Iran.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Thanks Nate. I got my ticket back from Iran. One of these days I am going to get the flight ticket TO Iran.
Whazzup with them flight times? Leaving SYZ on a 5 am flight to Doha! I also looked for the flights to Tehran IKA from Athens on Aegean so I could stop and see my mother for a few or so days…but the flight leaves at 10 pm and lands at 2.00 am! So now aiming for that 9.30 am or so flight from Istanbul. I got time π
Scott says
I went to Iran for a week in March thinking: how could it be that every firsthand account on travel there is so amazing? As it turns out, it was astonishingly beautiful and the people were the friendliest of any I’ve ever met. I fully intend to return.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Scott: Thanks for the feedback. I think I am going to have the same experience. I went to college with several Iranians. One used to manage a pizza place, used to bring back too many pizzas and we used to eat it after smoking a joint or two and watching Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies #goodtimes π
