A theory of jerks. Are you surrounded by fools? Are you the only reasonable person around? Then maybe you’re the one with the jerkitude. What a fun read, just a sample for you guys:
Picture the world through the eyes of the jerk. The line of people in the post office is a mass of unimportant fools; it’s a felt injustice that you must wait while they bumble with their requests. The flight attendant is not a potentially interesting person with her own cares and struggles but instead the most available face of a corporation that stupidly insists you shut your phone. Custodians and secretaries are lazy complainers who rightly get the scut work. The person who disagrees with you at the staff meeting is an idiot to be shot down. Entering a subway is an exercise in nudging past the dumb schmoes.
The opposite of the jerk is the sweetheart. The sweetheart sees others around him, even strangers, as individually distinctive people with valuable perspectives, whose desires and opinions, interests and goals are worthy of attention and respect. The sweetheart yields his place in line to the hurried shopper, stops to help the person who dropped her papers, calls an acquaintance with an embarrassed apology after having been unintentionally rude. In a debate, the sweetheart sees how he might be wrong and the other person right.
Would you rather read reports about horrid lobster roll sandwiches or stuff like this? ‘SEX BOTS SAVE LIVES’ Sex dolls have ‘saved’ lives of lonely suicidal men who MARRY the kinky cyborgs for companionship. NSFW! Marrying a sex doll must be the ultimate in jerkhood, WTF!
Eccentric dude has a shell garden!
Another great personal finance article by one of my favorite blogs doing a post on one of my favorite personal finance writers on one of my favorite books, it’s like hitting Daily Triple on Jeopardy! Your Brain on $.
- Money doesn’t buy happiness as far as the brain is concerned because the anticipation of a gain and then actually receiving said gain are processed differently in the brain. Getting exactly what you planned for doesn’t do much for excitement in your brain.
- Your brain consumes 2o% of your oxygen and the calories you burn when you’re resting. So when you start to think heavily it can go into overdrive and wear you out.
- People begin to get confident in their predictive abilities when they think they’ve spotted a pattern even when they’re explicitly told events are random ahead of time.
- Your brain hates uncertainty so when it is confronted with difficult questions it tends to search out easier ones instead in terms it can understand.
- Our brains can re-live financial losses while we’re sleeping.
- The brain of a cocaine addict who is expecting to get a fix and someone looking to make money on their investments is virtually the same.
- Once people assume an investment is predictable their brains freak out when the assumed pattern is broken.
- When you go on a financial hot streak the same area of the brain kicks in that is seen with people who suffer from the manic part of bipolar disorder.
These are great: 26 Beautiful lighthouses around the world.
The opioid epidemic, explained. This is an excellent read!

BLOG BUZZ
This section is for advanced level hobbyists and veteran blog readers & personal rants & stuff
There were some links floating around the blogosphere for targeted Amex Hilton credit card holders to add Authorized Users. It was 10k HH points per AU in the Hilton Surpass card. Waiting for 15 year old daughter to get hers, she will likely never know lol.
I have now added the link with the credit card best offers available with my links to the Credit Cards page.
Wife has intervened, looks like the Sunday posts here would be history soon. Unless a miracle happens from now until the end of the month. This must slowly turn back into a hobby. It is anything but that these days. I am sad but it will be for the best. If you can’t quit cold turkey, this slow way of blog detoxing is probably better, sad!

What lesson do you draw? Even with all the staff at TPG, they still don’t know how to do the headline click bait! Don’t get me started on that post about homeless people staying in hotels, smh. That quote listed in Post #846 makes me angry!
You know it is credit card pimping time when you see this headline by One Mile Conversion at a Time: Renewing The Amex Business Or Personal Platinum Card (Or Both)?. The blog post begins with: “I’m a big fan of both The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN”. I am sure you are. Just so you don’t miss them, the post is littered with the affiliate links for both cards. I mean, if you are going to be angry of blog stars like that here is your opportunity! Don’t be angry at me for whining a little bit about all the injustice regarding the present state of blog economics okay? Here I go again, I think my wife is right…again…I better stop.
This will get Ingy to come out right? 🙂
Update on my condition from the orthopedic specialist is that I do have two bulging discs in my spine causing all the pain and just lots of discomfort from my ass on down. “Herniation of nucleus pulposus”. Next up is a shot to help with the inflammation. I haven’t played a soccer game since April, my team “Gasping For Air” needs me to come back! Thank you for your concern.
As always, a huge thank you to all who use my links, you know who you are. Helps to keep me doing this!
And I leave you with this…

So is Mrs. Buzz going to be doing the Sunday posts? Going thorugh the 346 Feedly posts for meaty content? Answering in the comments section?
Hmmmmm………..
Sam says
Wait a minute. I reread today’s post about Sundays. Seems I misunderstood.
TBBTheDude says
Hi,
I will expand later.
346 is on the low side, sad!
In the meantime, my eyes are being grilled with the Air Berlin bankruptcy news…if I had a CSP click for every freaking blog post I see about it #onlygettingstarted #braceyourselves #TBBlookingforhisballs
ABC says
What’s OW’s plan in Europe? Increased dependence on LHR and BA/IAG?.
Skyteam appears to have a strong presence and a plan with DL, AF, KLM and VS.
Star alliance has always been strong in Europe.
ABC says
Maybe this is a Q for a thought leader, Mr ClickBait.
TBBTheDude says
You are so right…No way for me to now even consider Air Berlin…OW to Europe, sad!
Ryan says
Hate to see AB go away. They weren’t the greatest by any means, but I thought they were OK to fly on and most importantly, at least offered an option in Europe – besides surcharge heavy BA – when redeeming AA miles.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Wide open space to Europe from PHL right now, go!
TBBTheDude says
And we have a new winner with the MOST credit card affiliate links appearing in a post!
It will be revealed tomorrow…
In one post…smh.
WHO WRITES "BEST OFFER PATROL"? says
George, WHO WRITES “BEST OFFER PATROL”? Do you?
TBBTheDude says
Maybe it is a ghost writer as like so many others in this field?
WHO WRITES "BEST OFFER PATROL"? says
is it Ramsey?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
No.
Please no more jokes that may be perceived as crude/sexist by my wife, the new mother in law rule 🙂
Dml says
So chasing points is a substitute for cocaine? Huh. Maybe the credit card shills are actually useful? Cheaper addiction? My parents thought cocaine would be cheaper than the books I get.
TBBTheDude says
Never thought of it that way 😉
TBBTheDude says
Looking for a lawyer to do a blog post answering a question in the longest way possible when a simple Yes or No could have sufficed…
smh
Sam says
I’m looking for a lawyer who has lost an arm. That way I’ll never hear:
“On the other hand,…….”.
TBBTheDude says
LOL

Well, just figured out what NSFW means. A little too late….
Pretty sure I won’t get fired.

Great to experience what Richard Kerr had to share in his pocket (TPG editor). I noticed that he’s a COO at another CC selling blog. Why does a small blog need a COO?

That guy is as bad as TPG
Ryan says
That VFTW homeless post was just disgusting. What a worthless turd of a blog that is.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Worthless?
Based on $ metrics, that blog makes more in an hour than I do for months here…
Ok, I just felt better about myself…
