June 9 marked the 7 month anniversary of this blog. Thank you for reading and keeping me going. And I sure appreciate when you click on….oops, got carried away there and erroneously pasted the text from the post to appear after TBB does his own Million Mile Secrets Friday interview.
LOLOLOLOLOL
Ok, seriously. I can’t believe I am still here. Thank you. It has been an unbelievable learning and fun experience. And still remaining advertisement and affiliate crap free!
And eyebrow hair is coming back, YEAH!!!!
TRAVEL
Further Up Yonder. You MUST click on this link, sit back and enjoy this MOST STUNNING video I have seen in a long long time. And listen to the message too! Bloggers spend time right NOW editing their Chase and Citibank affiliate links. I could spend time looking into the subject. But I prefer to find stuff like this that could inspire my readers. SpaceOn!

Matthew on live and let’s fly at Upgrd has incredible pictures from his trip to Afghanistan! It is not often you get to see pics of Russian military equipment left behind and the memorial of legendary war lord Massoud (he was a real bad as*)!
MILES/POINTS
The 13k Virgin Atlantic miles to Europe mentioned yesterday was originally discovered by @MileCollector. For the record.
Some info from the June 2013 issue of Inside Flyer magazine:
-Randy Petersen has 1,818,661 Hilton Honors points and aims for 2 million. He aims to save them “well into the years ahead when I have the time and the impetus to enjoy them”. Dude, stop working so much and spend them, you are a walking devaluation machine. Come on Mr. Godfather of miles, earn and burn, earn and burn:-)
-Randy then goes on with some dark thoughts on the direction of the after merger American Airlines. And, nothing new here, he tells us revenue based sea change is coming. And he is hinting in the next few months the AA execs will lay out their vision. The question, the way I see it, is: Does this happen all at once as I think AA may do it or do it with 1,000 cuts the way Delta is doing it! It does not matter…it is inevitable. Grab them flat beds at these prices, we will be telling our grandchildren “I used to fly to Asia in Business or First Class with around 100k miles kid”.
BLOGGER BUZZ
Sometimes I mark some blog posts to comment on and then I forget what I wanted to comment about when I sit down to write my blog post!
There is a new site for Canadians: Canadian Free Flyers. It is modeled after the membership US site “Travel Hacking Cartel”. Yeah, you need to pay money to get all the deals sent to you, really? I wonder how many people pony up money for this stuff. Maybe I should have started something like this instead:-) What just kills me is the guy admits that he started “travel hacking” a few years ago. Flog me please!
I am really getting tired seeing so many bloggers doing detailed trip reports of flights. Come on, having pics of menus and the seats really really gets old after a while. One Mile at a Time started it. Please innovate with something else (hope it is not daily Top 5 posts!), I am really bored with your trip reports lately. Best part of the last one was seeing a pic of the pony toy! Here is a tip: Start adding some pics of human beings, your trip reports look so sanitized! Writing is better than Million Mile Secrets “I woke up and walked to the coffee machine” multi part trip reports:-)
This is why The Points Guy is Numero Uno, best PR by far! Welcome USA Today readers post coming up! Yes I added the link because it is my blog and I can do whatever I want, deal with it.
Delta Points continued to enlighten reader Bob and managed to do a second (!!!) post about his question that, imho, nobody gives a ____ (deleted by censors, lol) about! Not only that but an affiliate link appears to be edited into Bob’s quoted remarks!! Oh the humanity, really? There is so much going on with Delta and all we get is Bob & Skunkygate & more affiliate credit card links conveniently embedded in the body of the posts. Shaking my head…violently…again.
View from the Wing now has a “Top 5 Rewards Cards from Each Bank”. I can’t wait to read about the top five rewards cards from…Chase! Please hurry, my readers can’t wait! I hear we can get 5x points in office supply stores, wow!
Blog post headline: “Top Travel Cards for the Summer” Can you guess who? No, you can’t. It was by Johnny Jet! So many experts wanting us to travel for free.
ON MY MIND
Travel Blogger Buzz was quoted in the June 2013 edition of Inside Flyer, woohoo! It was when I made fun of the Freddies and suggested we have parallel awards picking the worst of the worst and call them the Frenzies or the Doozies. No voting needed for Worst Award Redemption category, it’s Delta all the way baby!
I had a thorough review of the May issue of Inside Flyer magazine last month. No way I can find the time to do this again. Besides, that post did not generate many comments or reaction. Maybe I should pick some highlights as I go through it (very slowly).
I can’t believe I am still here…
I will need to slow down in the next week, got some major things coming up in my real life (the TBB is a parallel life..like the Matrix!).

I’m pretty sure TBB was around last November (when the Office Depot VRs disappeared) so it’s at least 7-8 months old, no?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Phuck!!!! I just realized that not ALL of my previous blogs posts were transferred over from Blogger to WordPress. They only go back to March 16, 2013! Damnit!!!
The initial post in my blog was made on November 9, 2012…so you are right, it is 7 months anniversary!
Raffles says
“QUESTION: How many miles and points do you have?
ANSWER: That’s a very personal question. I don’t even know, but definitely seven figures.”
TIme to send that man an AwardWallet link!
Benjamin says
Plus, that’s nice that he puts it in the story that “he” took his friends to Milan, when he wrote on the blog about them using their own points. At least he is comfortable knowing he is the top dog, or at least he kept mentions in the piece.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
TPG is the only blogger who has managed to get this hobby as close to…mainstream as like nobody else.
I think I should start adding hyperlinks all over my blog too…it must be working:-)
rene says
Thanks for spreading the word about #SkunkyGate 2013! Delta flyers will put “UP” with a bunch but not cheap swill!
Anonymous says
You, sir, are just plain out of touch.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Warning to DP: I will let this link stay. Blatant promotional linking can stay in your own blog, we don’t need that around here.
There is sooooo much going on with Delta and you write about…never mind.
Anonymous says
So you are saying you will censor? Welcome to N. KOREA
TravelBloggerBuzz says
The policy was laid out a few days ago. Comments containing links are mostly spam. Spam gets deleted. I make the executive decision to determine what is spam (or not).
I could edit the comment to delete the link but not sure how to do it and that definitely feels North Korean ish.
Just imagine if I let this stand DP and others will keep spamming my comments with their own links, yikes.
Warning stands.
rene says
The “Angry’s” at FT blog bashing board have concluded removal of links is censorship!
Guess once you do we will have to update wiki that ttb does censors!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Do you consider MilesAbound an angry too? LISTEN to some of what we are saying instead of coneniently dismissing us ALL because one or two idiots can’t control themselves!
Just think…all this time reading TBB and commenting you could have thought of more ways to slide in your affiliate links in your posts and even editing readers’ comments (!!!!) with them.
I will not allow spam here. Proudly I may add:-)
rene says
You sound angry and ready to censor. True colors showing (n. Korean red)
The Heckler says
This chick rene sounds angry, must be time of month.
Surge and Swell says
Seconded. Rene/DP seem to have NO grasp on how his words/actions will be perceived by others.

“One Mile at a Time started it”
Actually VFTW did. Here’s a link to one installment of a multi-part QF/TN F trip report from 2005:
http://boardingarea.com/blogs/viewfromthewing/2005/06/18/on-to-bora-bora/
That was long before OMAT began blogging.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
You are right. I singled out OMAT because the trip reports remain his signature. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of OMAT? His endless first class trip reports imho.
Nutz and diet coke and wet towels too:-)
theblakefish says
OMAT doesn’t go anywhere when he travels…he just checks-in to the Hyatt (wherever) and stays at the hotel…never comments about the destinations other than how his diet coke and lime tastes in the Regency lounge.
However, I do know one thing about OMAT: I can bet that he isn’t flying UNITED to get there!! :)-
TravelBloggerBuzz says
AA is greeeeeat:-)
We were in the same hotel once, Santiago W. But never met…we were out and about all day long!
Paul Revere says
THE CORRECTION IS COMING! THE CORRECTION IS COMING!…….Buzz I know you are into the market and if your pal Louis Rukeyser was alive he would tell you that the easy money in the market has been made over the last 18 months. A monkey throwing a dart at the WSJ could have picked out his stocks successfully in that time frame. Once the Fed reverses course a 10-12 percent correction is inevitable. I seen this movie before. Don’t forget to put your stop loss orders in for the ride down. The next phase is a stock pickers market where you will be able to snap up those great companies that got dragged down in the correction tide.

Is it me or does FTG love patting himself on the back. Seems like I nice guy though.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
No, it is just not you.
Yes, nice guy….except when he goes off no angry rants online:-)
Surge and Swell says
Isn’t bragging one of the perks of having your own blog?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
It is…but you don’t see many of us making whole posts devoted to bragging:-)
The Heckler says
Mommy Points….15 pictures of her kid,15! I wish she would stop having good content from time to time, because i’m sick of the pictures of her kid. I don’t even want to see 15 pix of my own kids…..
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I marked that blog post so I can make a comment on it. Cute kid but too many pics of her, going a little overboard.
If I post a pic of my son again here he will warn me it is copyrighted lol.
My kids specialize in domestic terrorism. If I post their pics here my readers will be terrorized. Me alone being terrorized is enough:-)
Mommy Points says
Normally I would 100% agree, but the point of the post was to document how the kid survived four flights in about 30 hours. Pictures kind of help tell the story in this case, but otherwise there wouldn’t be near that many. Some loved it, some clearly hated it. Such is the life of a blog post. 😉
The Heckler says
I’ve spent most of my entire adult life aboard airplanes (14 million miles worth) and know very well that dragging your 4 year old kid around like that in f/c or y is torture.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I was going to make a comment about little C vs Emily and how bloggers take advantage of family members but I think it may have been misunderstood…
Always remember most of what appears here is for…entertainment. You would not believe what grief I get with my posts lol
Mommy Points says
It was way easier than I thought it would be, and well worth the Hawaii pay-off. 😉 TBB, I wouldn’t say take advantage, but I would say that everyone around us in our immediate family is fair game. It is very much a family affair, at least in my case.
Bikeguy says
I believe it to be the violent shaking of your head from reading Delta Points that is causing your eyebrows to be cast out.
Just don’t read that one blog and they should come back within 4 weeks.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I think you have a point. Ever since I started reading DP on Google Reader (need to make the move to Feedly this month!!!!) and not visiting the DP website my eyebrow hair is coming back!
I have a duty to read all blogs to fulfill the TBB Mission: educate, inspire, entertain:-)
ferrari_fan says
I wouldn’t visit DP’s hometown if I were you. He sounds …. angry …. LOL
rene says
@ferrari_fan – I am angry about cheap swill in the Skyclubs! I would never ever buy or offer those “beers” to those who I like. A blue moon and a slice of orange YES! Anything with the world “lite”, NEVER! IMO would be like you driving a Yugo!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I love it when you comment here and provide no links:-)
rene says
Uh, sorry. Will do better tomorrow (but you can click on my name) 😉
ferrari_fan says
Hmmm
anonymouse says
George, just a gentle correction – I believe “eyebrows” refer to your hair already…so “eyebrow hair” is tautological.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Got it, thanks! English is my 2nd language actually…I think I do pretty good but always room for improvement!
theblakefish says
OMG that Lochte video made me spit Gatorade all over my screen…hilarious!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I know, I know…super hilariously brilliant:-)
Oliver2002 says
George,
just spent 15 extra minutes at the Hyatt reading your blog instead of exploring Shangahi on my day off from work.
Seriously though, I just did Turkish C and a few Hyatts gushed about by VFTW and OMAAT in the past month and don’t get what the excitement is all about. Maybe the thrill of doing it with points generated by manufactured spend is the orgasmic part :p
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I think doing this based on manufactured spend sure is a contributor to orgasmic feelings:-)
