We travel to Kosovo, learn about airline fees, weep over selfie fatalities, get our kicks in the new Drone Racing League, learn best social media tips & more!
TBB Blog Mission: To Entertain. Educate. Inspire. In That Order!

It was probably one of the slowest weekends in the miles/points world. So much so that we have almost nothing to report so we will just move on to some other eclectic stuff.
I am attending a conference in Orlando the rest of the week so posts here will be shorter and I may miss more than the coming Saturday. Unless I get a ton of clicks which will make me feel guilty and soldier on bypassing free meals and booze by vendors (which I have already turned down three!). Hehe.
A field of Blackbirds: Dark Tourism in Kosovo’s Former Conflict Zones. Fascinatingly gripping account from on the ground in Kosovo learning about the conflict there. Very educational stuff.
US airline fees are actually leveling. What? For real? Interesting. One thing for sure…they are not going away anytime soon. And check out Spirit’s fees, yikes!
Dear readers, I introduce to you the Drone Racing League. Will this be BIG? Well, some people sure think so and are betting big bucks behind it. I have a client who is into this obscure hobby. Come to think of it, the travel hacking hobby was obscure until some bloggers ruined it, Nightline and CNN anyone? Hehe. Anyways, my client recommended a great starter drone to me and will be checking it out myself, probably after tax season for obvious reasons. And if I like it I may have a direct link to it at Amazon #warning.
The Fresno Drop – Where it all began dear readers, in 1958 by Bank of America dropping 60,000 pieces of mail to Fresno residents containing a plastic card with a $500 line of credit. The rest is history, most of it horribly bad.
The tragic data behind self fatalities.ย This is beyond sad. Hey you, stop taking selfies, Jeeeesus!
9 Best Social Media Tips from a Financial Advisor who has become a legend online with his blog and relentless use of Twitter. These can apply to you. Remember, part of TBB’s mission is educational! They are:
–Don’t delegate. Please, stop doing that, what the hell!
–No shortcuts. You are buying followers? Really? Stop.
–No ugliness. If you get trolled by a mean moron, don’t fall down to their levels, ignore them.
–No picking sides. Go with what works best for YOU. Obviously Twitter works for me ๐
–Respect the boundaries. It is not easy. Try harder.
–Create community. Yeah, we have it here, I think. Lets make it better, lets make a difference. Sorry no Wounded Warriors projects lol.
–Know millennials. They are the future #deep.
–Get away. I will….to Iran!
–Don’t pretend. Probably best tip. If you don’t enjoy something, stop doing it!
Lets end this with some feel good inspiring stuff that happened in 2015. Because, you know, we like to inspire as well. Nothing inspires me more than one credit card per day here and Amazon orders in the mid three digits (the higher the better!). At this points some moron is screaming “you see, you see, he is such a hideous pumper”. Lol, oh the blog humanity, free laughs 24/7.
And I leave you with this…
Where is Drew?
Please help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $ links, thank you!

Who’s Drew?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Some blogger who used to be in the LOVE list. Then fell to Like list. He is still there…for now.
I hope he is well, they are a very nice couple. And obviously very talented. Which goes to show you talent alone can only take you so long. It sucks to lose bloggers like this (if indeed the lack of posts indicates such a thing) and others who are so less talented and ethically challenged “succeed”. Which brings to the forefront of what TBB is still about:
Help small bloggers succeed before they fold dammmnit!
Kumar says
I want to see a great comeback from Drew. Come on, friend.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I hope so too. My workload has dropped off. Hate to see talented bloggers give up and pumpers keep…pumping!
F/A Ramsey says
Buzz when I saw the picture of the toilet paper going down that aisle, my first thought was to see if it was me. That was one of my many bits when I was working coach on a flight. I must of did that a 100 times to get cheap laughs.
Along with many other mature gags like paging celebrities that were not on board, asking them to claim their Kosher Meal. (answering, using the hidden F/A call bell) Everyone would be looking around wondering where Arnold Schwarzenegger or Andre The Giant was sitting.
Wearing a Kaftan and Turbine while doing the liquor cart (this was a loooong time ago, not possible nowadays).
The ‘kick me’ sign on the back gag, but with something more clever written on it. Like if I was working with a Hot F/A with a sense of humor, the sign would be something more risque.
The fart machine, an oldie but goodie. Fake doody and vomit, of course. Fake name badges and don’t get me started on the announcements.
Just think of all the stupid, immature gags you did in high school, we would do them inflight at TWA, because the was NO management. I know I am going to think of some really good ones now throughout the day. Buzz, you and I would of had a blast together if we worked a flight together. Not to mention you would of gotten laid a lot.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Love them!
That pic I posted still has me….as soon as I saw it I knew it was TBB worthy. Plus it avoided the actual toilet lol.
Well I regret not becoming an FA the way you put it man ๐
I do regret one thing in my youth days. As an exchange student in the US in my senior year in HS…I was lost pretty much in the first four months. Well after I finally came down from the severe culture shock and learned some English…I realized I could kick field goals pretty darn good. And nobody told me to even try for the HS football team when they needed kickers. PAT attempts I could kick with my eyes closed. 20 yarders almost automatic. 30 yarders at least half without never practicing. A few 40 yearders here and there. I could have that jacket that all girls went crazy about. That I regret. Oh well, at least I never got any concussions and my brain appears normal lol.
If you do a post “The 10 most preposterous things I saw as an F/A with TWA” and email it to me, you have a $50 Amazon gift card some company mailed me. Heck, I ‘ll throw in there two days of Amazon sales revenue. #HUGE Think about it. If no time, I understand.
I am off to Orlando tomorrow. Maybe I should try to put together a lunch meeting with some TBB readers. Anyone?
bluecat says
If you ever put together a lunch meeting that includes Ramsey, I’m in! Of course, no business will be conducted….but no one will care.
Ramsey says
Bluecat your in! So many of us BUZZHEADS here in Portland, we have to get our main man Buzz here! and Kumar too
Brenton says
Is that Portland, ME or Portland OR? OR is 1649 miles from me vs. 1550 for ME, so fingers crossed for Maine so I can make it to that meeting…
Scott says
Portland, Maine? Ew.
Kumar says
How about in NC, George and boss?
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I always wanted to go on tour…

Yeah heard that on the radio about drone races, what about drone wars, like those bot battles they used to have on TV ? Drone Dogfights ? We could all sit up in the stadium boxes and watch them take each other out. I heard the investors had put up $8 million.
Those selfie people are crazy.
I would like to propose a handicap method for determining first, second, etc. place in the comments. Those of us in different time zones should have that many hours allowed.
Can we all agree that is the only fair way to do this ? ๐
Thanks Buzz, Happy Monday.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I have another drone related item to post soon, even crazier than the Drone Racing League.
Selfies are deadly. All around.
Your proposal will be considered by the TBB Board. Wait (for long time for the decision) ๐
Better By Design says
Now I want to know what the suggested entry-level drone is?
With all the devaluations, that might be all the future *hobby* flying I’ll be doing!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Here is the link to the starter drone my client recommended to me.
Full Disclosure: I have not bought it yet but I intend to. Yes, it is my Amazon link.

At this rate, instead of considering basket weaving or Tai Chi to replace our hobby….this could be more fun hehe

Any comments on the comments here?
http://www.doctorofcredit.com/what-should-we-do-when-an-affiliate-link-is-higher-than-the-next-available-bonus/
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I replied to angry Nancy…and avoided that Ben dude.
I think serving an affiliate link to one of the pumping bloggers was ludicrous (oh, where is that guy, I miss him around here!). It’s like encouraging pumping and that is definitely NOT what this space needs! If the Doc felt so strong about it he could say so, not sure his readers need arrows to get to that. And then I read something about GL was pumping Prestige…and then switched the link to…OMAAT…WTF!
Anyway, I am not angry. I speak my mind. That was disappointing. We all make mistakes. I can write a book about my own.

Ordered 4 of these LED lanterns from Amazon just now. (They are supposed to be great for the $.) Remembered to use the TBB link.
http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Survival-Technologies-30-Day-Lantern/dp/B00DUPV60K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454375416&sr=8-1&keywords=ust+30+day+led+lantern
Wind was crazy here yesterday and last night the power went out.
I felt like I was camping, just a flashlight, cell phone, and ipad. Fun.
Mike says
I am using private mode or something in chrome, that wouldn’t prevent the TBB link thing from working would it ?
Ie. go to TBB link, then search for item, then buy it.
? ? ?
Mike says
I don’t see anything about travel in my link . . .
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Mike, you are overthinking it dude.
I am going to delete that link or accidentally trip it as I don’t see my code.
You come here, you click on my Amazon banner in the front page on the right or go to Support Page and click on the Amazon banner or link. Then, you do what you normally do. Search for the drone, find it, log in, order it. End of story. The key is to START using my Amazon link or banner!
Or if you want to order that drone my client recommended I have made a short link to it myself, click on it
http://amzn.to/1QCFQWp
and order it. BOOM.
Use chrome or firefox. Private mode should be okay, not sure. Just get TO Amazon with my link/banner and it should work.
Living without power is a bitch, hope you get it back soon! One of these days I will invest in a generator. I say this for the past 30 years ๐

Mike-
You ok, pal? Those lanterns aren’t for after you suit up, are they?

Buzz that’s what I’m trying to tell you, I did just what you described — I’m suspecting it DOES NOT WORK if in incognito mode. After using your Amazon link to search the product, The browser seems to not remember the TBB part. OK check your statements when they come in.
No overthinking here, just trying to make sure you don’t get tricked out of your $0.47.
I think GL gets Feb 2nd first.
Sam those are strictly for home use, so far at least! ๐
