ON MY MIND
Google announced it is killing Google Reader! I need to tell you that there is NO way this blog would exist without Google Reader! I am distraught. From what I am feeling around on Twitter I am not the only one! If no worthy replacement there is no way I can continue this blog. I know most bloggers use GR, what do you plan to do?
And here is a video that pretty much says it all. It involves Hitler and it is satire…please!
US Bank would not budge to get wife’s Club Carlson card to be manually reviewed. And believe me I tried. I got the Twittter folks involved. And will try again at least one more time.

George, you have to lay off the exclamation points, dude. In your “On My Mind” intro, there are 12 sentences…you used 4 exclamation points, which is a bit excessive…if writing a piece critical of others, you really owe it to your readers and to those you criticize to be better and smarter…please use better grammar and punctuation. –bf

I’m all for helping George improve his blogging! Perhaps someone should start a blog that comments on blog commentators?!

I totally disagree with Blakes. It’s a blog, not a term paper. I love the exclamation points! Blake, you could learn a thing or two from him.

This is my view on the subject: This is my personal non commercial tiny corner enabling me to release my creative energy, an avenue to reduce my therapist’s hefty invoices. This blog is my voice and I want to keep it real. I include the exclamation marks for emphasis and, frankly, it resembles the animated character I am (sometimes). For more professional writing I do use an editor who kills several exclamation marks rightly. If an exclamation marke comes to me as I type I am not going to worry about it. You shouldn’t either imho, don’t worry about it. Thanks for all the comments!

Does Google Reader going away make it slightly harder for bloggers to start conga lines of copying everyone else’s material?
Good
TravelBlogger Buzz says
It sure doesn’t help!

@Ryan, where will you get your p00rn?
TravelBlogger Buzz says
For the record: I do not get my p00n with Google Reader lol

I cringed at the Google Reader announcement as well. I have been playing with Feedly this morning and so far its not bad. They say Google Reader will seamlessly transition to Feedly. Hopefully it goes better than most of the airline IT projects.

Over the next few months I need to start looking at replacements. I am going go let the dust settle in a bit first. I still hope that Google may reverse this. Probably not but it is a nice thought nevertheless
Mark Koschwitz says
Try these: theoldreader.com – multiplx.com – feedly.com
Check them out. They’re all a little different, but these are only a few of the dozen options and most of them will sync or transfer over your Google Reader feeds. RSS is slowly dying thanks to social media and the like. Google probably sees that and is letting it go. A few of the alternatives are quite good.
