So, this may be damaging to my reputation…but hear me out. I booked my first trip on Spirit. Two in fact! Blew my miles on RT ‘s to Philadelphia (for a business meeting) and to Ft. Lauderdale. I will cancel my Spirit card in the next few days before the annual fee hits. That was a mistake but hey…it was for research purposes lol. I don’t have time to book trips with wife’s card…for now. Too much TBBing for you! Anyways, any hotel recommendations in these two cities please let me know. Visiting Ft. Lauderdale next April so I doubt I will still be blogging but if I am I could meet some TBB readers.
I got more positive feedback in my post advising the newbies. Then again, no blogger linked to it, wow! I find that telling. Not sure what but I have some ideas… #mysterious.
Thank you to this reader! And to all the readers with the positive feedback, it really means a lot to keep this baby going!
Things are just so dead out there! I mean, really! Somebody wake me up from all this action, zzzzzzzz…

Apparently, bloggers were all selling these two Amex cards. So, I tweeted about it and stuck my own link And then the haters come out, smh. But it’s all good, it comes with the territory. Bloggers must have thick skin; if not, they won’t last, it is a blood sport sometimes!
And I leave you with this…The name Bartholomew always cracked me up, woohoo!

The Harmony is just ridiculously huge. I even think the Voyager class of ships with passenger capacity of about 4000 is too much. How many ports can accommodate a ship of that size. I guess if you don’t mind cruising yet again to Nassau or Cozumel that wouldn’t be an issue.

She’s a mighty big ship. Did 2 weeks back to back on Allure when she was new, and a trans-Atlantic, Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale last year. In the case of those enormous ships, they are the destination. Ports of call are secondary. IMHO, of course. Truth told – Allure never really felt crowded to me, and I think those large ships are great for “vacation”….i.e. taking a week off and blowing off a little steam. I would want to sail something smaller that would allow for a little more cultural experience (at least as much as you can get by cruising) around the Med though. Small ship, or better yet, a river cruise.

“In the case of those enormous ships, they are the destination.” This is exactly the reason that I do not like American style cruising. I much prefer the destination than the ship. However, most people that I know love this about cruising, so I just realize that once again I am out of step with the mainstream.
I did take a Mediterranean cruise in 2002 on a now-defunct Greek cruise line (RIP Royal Olympic Cruises). It was 7 days and perfect for the amount of time that we had in port. We left from Rome to Messina (Taormina), Corfu, Cruise through the Corinth Canal, Athens, Olympia, Zykanthos, Lipari, Genoa (Portofino) and back to Rome. The ship was pretty much a floating hotel and was fairly bare bones. There were only about 10 Americans on board, 20 British, 2 Australians, and 2 South Africans that went on the English language tours, so we bonded together on the excursions.

Thanks for the cruising comments. I have only been on one and it was Freeee ๐
Not into them but I do see the appeal and it could work for us one day.
Oh yeah, Royal Olympic Cruise…RIP.

Did the Stepanakert photo remind anyone else of the Avenue of the Victors, or whatever the name of the neighborhood was in Hunger Games where Katniss et al are built a house after their (spoiler alert) victory? And then the first photo in the linked article could be the neighborhood after the bombing…

I would encourage those who are thinking about taking a cruise to understand that it’s one of the worst forms of travel in terms of environmental damage.

Budapest is an amazing place. The ruin pubs are eclectic and lots of fun. Had a great time going out every night with the ex last time I was there, and I’m not really a nightlife guy typically.

Nice to hear about potential improvements. Budapest used to be know for is prostitution scene. Maybe this is why it’s #1? I would have guessed Ibiza.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yeah…ok, it is nicer…but Numero Uno is shocking!
