I decided to break out the personal finance related blogs and sites I recommend to its own page. I think it makes more sense instead of mixing them all with the travel hacking and general travel blogs/sites. I am working on splitting those as well at a later date as well. Please be patient, I have no staff around here to help me you know. I hope these are helpful to you and I plan to update them on a more regular basis going forward. Please keep comments on this blog post and do not post any comments on the permanent page.

BLOGS
REFERENCE
Notes:
The above are in my own humble opinion only of course!
A Wealth of Common Sense – Probably the best investment writer, I don’t know how he does it every day. Must read. It is the closest to graduate to the Blogs I Love but recently he recommended The Points Guy so I changed my mind about that 🙂 Works at RWM, see below.
Memos from Howard Marks – Brilliant investment related writings, he has been doing it for many years. There is a long gap before each one and they are several pages long. And worth it.
The Big Picture – Another old timer, who founded Ritholtz Wealth Management (RWM). And has somehow managed to add all the best bloggers to work at his firm. Amazing what blogging and social media has done for this firm, unprecedented! I will sell out to these guys and not to TPG, lol.
The Reformed Broker – Also started blogging early and has managed a huge following on Twitter. Usually comes out with amazing rants. CEO of RWM.
Jason Zweig – Long time writer for the Wall Street Journal. Great writer and investment knowledge. Great books too. Phenomenal behavioral and brain related stuff that impacts finances, which I find fascinating.
Morgan Housel – He writes at the Collaborative Fund now after several years at Motley Fool. Brilliant writing talent, way beyond his years.
Above the Market – Very strong writing with behavioral finance topics mixed in.
Humble Dollar – Jonathan Clements was my favorite WSJ writer for many years. I believe he went to Citibank and now is back at WSJ along with this blog and of course his books. Pure personal finance at its finest.
Carolyn McClanahan – Colleague who also writes at Forbes about health care and personal finance. She knows, she is an MD and a CFP!
Priceonomics – Love their posts going deeper into many issues spanning…many areas. And you know I like variety!
Visual Capitalist – LOVE this content!
Abnormal Returns – Has been curating links for a very long time. And a trusted source of good content around the Web.
Currency Converter – This is where I go to see how much my euros are worth. And my Russian rubles too 🙂
Bogleheads – Not an official member but my heart belongs here as I have been a devoted fan/Boglehead and passionate about the passive investment indexing approach. Great forum to ask for advice. For free.
RateBrain – I like this site to see what interest rates I can get at any time.
Guide to State Taxes – You want to compare the tax picture in each state? This is it!
State Tax Agencies – You want links to each state tax agency? This is it!
80 Financial Calculators – There are many sites out there, I like this one.
Devils Financial Dictionary – You know my site has a lot of humor. And this is a brilliantly funny financial directory by Jazon Zweig.

The post for tomorrow is coming out very nicely. I found a MUST read post about advanced travel hackers and MSers…which is NOT kind to TPG lol.
DML: If you have any sites you may want to add on my list for me to consider please let me know.

Buzz, this is too many blogs (for me) to read.
What are your top 2 or 3, that would give me a variety?
TBBTheDude says
What are your interests?
And how advanced/interested are you in investing topics?
bluecat says
THanks for asking
I’m at a place where I’ve got my investing more or less on steady state…I look at things once a month but almost never touch anything…so I guess I’m interested more in quirky things (e.g., if I didn;t know about “The Hobby”, it would be a fun read). That, and making sure I don’t miss out on big changes (e.g., how to prepare for the upcoming tax changes)

Visual Capitalist
Priceonomics
Abnormal Returns (for the curated links…always find something interesting in there)
The Reformed Broker (for the more rare now rants with f word bombs galore)

Thanks! Added to my feedly!

Can someone confirm that I won’t lose my free Hyatt night if it is held in my Hyatt account if I cancel the Hyatt credit card?
Sam says
My recollection is that a Hyatt night earned doesn’t go away on cancellation. But I haven’t read up on this since about 2014 (if ever, since we still have our Hyatt cards, though not for long). So I think you’re safe, but what do I know?
Realy good bunch of financial links today, Buzz. Jail life seems to be providing focus. Keep chanting, mon ami. I imagine you can get a lot of conversions from the newbies in there. And you’ll be out long before they realize there’s no availability. #gottamovesoon.
