Here is a helpful blog post on how to use AA.com to find better AAdvantage awards.
Looks like SPG is having some new options when you hit the 50 Nights mark. Enjoy them while you can as we are on the last leg of SPGhood until Marriott messes it all up!
More on the Choice Privileges program’s new expiration policy. I guess it is a good move. Some interesting upscale hotel options are available as awards there. But it appears the ridiculous condition to not book awards more than a month in the future is still intact. Yawn…
I recently wondered about why we have 5th Freedom flights. TBB reader Oliver2002 sent me this wikipedia link explaining all about them and how they are named numbered. Great info, thanks! And then Lazy Traveler continues to dig into great obscure Fifth Freedom flights. You can fly Singapore to Bali on KLM using your crappy Skymiles, bet you didn’t know that ๐
10 Life Changing Trips. Another interesting AFAR list. Westminster Abbey, seriously?
The Best Hotel in Every State. Interesting list.
This is probably the best read I have encountered about David Bowie‘s death and how influential the dude was. Can you recall another artist who reinvented himself so many times? Even his death was a masterpiece; the song Lazarus will haunt us all for ever. Enjoy.
You hear a lot of crap by Wall Street gurus charlatans all the time. It gets worse when fear sets back in. Turn off the media noise. Unless you are investing for the next three weeks, be grateful for the opportunity to perhaps make more purchases in lower prices because…you are investing for the long term right? Here is a great article by my colleague Ben Carlson who gets a lot of crap for having a name so similar to the Republican Presidential candidate! Title: “We have no idea“. So true…
Hey, I could be inquiring about how to get direct credit card links and pumping you all to pieces with endless “Five best credit cards for breakfast” or other non sense. But I don’t. I could be doing other things with my time and I don’t. And then I get trolled endlessly by this dude whining, even on Saturday nights while I am partying at the Detroit Auto Show. When you spend so much time on a blog you obviously despise and your comments here outnumber the overall comments in your own blog…there is something seriously…messed up. Help me and other smaller bloggers beat back the crap from these blogs, we can wiiiiiiiin ๐ Please, don’t feed the trolls, it’s a waste of time, just sit back and enjoy, I sure do!
Lake Bled, Slovenia. Okay, this place is growing on me…Like…a lot! If it only had a Hyatt nearby lol.
And I leave you with this…

Greetings from a Panera somewhere.
I clicked that “best hotel in every state” article knowing it was clickbait, but was reassured when it contained the Muhlbach Hotel.
From a (easy) favorite novel:
Have a good week, Buzz.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yeah, it was click bait, I fell for it too!
I love Paneras but the music lately is just…painful!

EL CHAPO IS NOT HAPPY.
EL CHAPO spend his entire weekend hitting the refresh button on his email, waiting for his message from TBB, telling him he won ALL the TBB giveaway prizes.
EL CHAPO won NADA!
EL CHAPO NO ES FELIZ.

Oh oh, hope you don’t send your people after me!
Did you see Sean Penn’s interview in 60 Minutes? The dude looks like he parties way too much. Maybe he went to get some drugs from El Chapo himself lol.

I made it to the top five. Wow! Lake Bled looks awesome. I’m planning a trip to Europe, starting now for summer 2017. Gonna stay in Airbnb, though.

Re: Lake Bled…indeed!
I liked my only Airbnb stay. But with so many free night certs and hotel points I would rather blow my money on something else instead. Maybe when I switch hobbies to basket weaving or Tai Chi and have no more hotel points…I would be Airbnb-ing it ๐

I’m planning to stay in Vacation Rentals, (but not everywhere with Airbnb), on my next trip to Brazil (4 cities). It pains me NOT to travel free for a change, but Brazil is one country that’s not big on the point hotels being in right places. And besides… private pools cost a lot of points. ๐

Glenn Frey is dead.
He’s from your neck of the woods, Buzz. An interesting guy I met through mutual friends in 1982; said mutual friends were the inspiration for “They hide it up in Telluride” (hola Skip you worthless POS).
Sigh.
One thing my father told me about growing old, just short of his 90th and last b’day: everyone you know, loved, cared about, is already dead.

I had no idea he was from…Royal Oak, Michigan.
Would be an interesting band up there with Frey, Bowie and that Lemi guy from Motorhead!
RIP

David Bowie was a disgusting individual. Total moral decay killed him.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I obviously disagree. David Bowie was an incredible and influential artist.
Lets keep the morals out of this por favor. I had no idea cancer was that selective.
There will never be another David Bowie, he was one of a kind. Obviously, I was a fan.
The Lazarus song still….haunts me, I think I am going to play it again…right now!

Line of the year (though it’s early).
