Western Hemisphere all-inclusive resorts. As I was thinking about them and the points/miles required…gracias!
Uber drivers are angry. I paid $36 for a ride to Ann Arbor from the Detroit airport in early 2015. Last month it cost me $22. I get it.
Another set of most inspiring travel photos at Matador Network. Love inspiring around here! Numbers 9 and 11 are my favorites, wow!
28 places to party before you die, the best party destinations in the world. Yeah baby!

British man changed his legal name to Bacon Double Cheesburger. Shaking my head, he probably reads the Titan bloggers thinking they make money from…ads only and not from pumping credit cards 24/7 #gulp
Your personal finance fix of the day: When Global Stocks Go On Sale. This is not an investment recommendation, lets get this out of the way. It is a travel related blog for Pete’s sake (who is Pete?).
World press photos: Best nature and sports images. Love this one, a cloud tsunami. #mindblown
Images from the Sony 2016 Photography awards. These are absolutely incredible!
Surreal photos from Russia. Love these, they all look like they are stoned!

Latest retention offers by that bank that offers Prestigious cards ๐
Not sure if everyone caught this but One Credit Card at a Time now sells cards pointing to Card Benefit links which are NOT direct bank links to the bank that offers the amazing CSPcard. So, if he did not pump enough and lost them…what is going on? If anyone familiar with the inner workings of this “transparent” industry please let me know, thanks.
Credit reporting on business cards. Must read.
Mrs. TBB went for an Ink, now we wait, not that hopeful.
Hoping for a schedule change in a Delta award to avoid redeposit or change fees for Mrs. TBB and daughter who was selected for a scholarship trip with her dance group to China (no airfare). Guess I need to spend more miles…
And I leave you with this…
Please help bloggers you appreciate & make a positive difference in your life by spreading the word about their blogs, emailing and commenting and using their few $ links, thank you!

I am very surprised that OMAAT may have lost his links. I know that they want to see a minimum quota of 100 per month and I would have figured he could have hit that easily. They will give you a floating period of 90 days to keep that average and if you go back that far, that was about when the media hype of his free travels ended. So, it is likely that he could not keep the newbies and that is really where it all is.
Who does that leave with Chase? FTG and TPG? I have to think the only way that FTG has kept his links is that IB has been able to put the site together as a bundle across their market, otherwise I would be surprised.
Fun little story – I was told one time (by someone who would know) that there was an affiliate that, for whatever reason, decided to stop. He was pulling in over $3m per year in affiliate income from the banks and they were still paying him months later in huge checks because of the residual from those who had applied and how long it took for some of the applications to process.

I think you may be right on almost all of your points…I am just not familiar with the inner workings of this industry, the little I know is #$&&* bad (self censoring lol).
If TPG loses his links…you know this one is OVER ๐
$3M per year, wow! In our little space, excuse moi, in The Hobby? Probably not that far fetched but still a reach. Name names (via email or DM is ok #hint).
There is a huge price bloggers pay to go along to be “complying” to keep getting paid. They trade readers’ welfare with money. This is why you never see them writing about churning anymore, posting about rules (5/24 everyone), and not warning about the Amexlimits as well. Don’t get me started with the horrific practice of pumping inferior offers to their readers. Yep, the dinero in this space has always been in the newbies who are clueless. Therefore the media blitz of the Titans to keep bringing in fresh meat who never had the CSP card ๐
I sleep well at night knowing my readers here do know what they are doing and are responsible with their credit.
I need to fill up my coffee at Panera next, thanks for taking the time to comment!

Almost? Where is this coming from?

I am way too caffeinated and afraid I may not be able to drive into my subdivision due to the freaking snow situation, still coming down! What are you referring to?
ABC says
“I am very surprised that OMAAT may have lost his links.”
What is this based on?
ABC says
Sorry, I didn’t catch that section. Ignore my previous comments.
TL says
It wouldn’t surprise me if this had more to do with the quality of the new customers than the quantity. Credit card companies track the profitability of customers and tie it back to the channels that referred them.
The card companies want customers who keep the card, pay the annual fee, rack up a bunch of merchant fees by using it, then rack up a bunch of interest charges by not paying the bill in full. If the “blog” isn’t bringing in these types of people, then the referral fees are a bad investment on the part of the card company. Hence why these blogs don’t discuss churning and don’t talk much about MS anymore. The credit card companies have made it pretty clear that they’re not interested in churners with the limits they’ve imposed and they sure don’t want to pay OMAAT, VFTW, or TPG for these customers.

I think you are right….like the airlines, they took a while to start figuring this out…

Buzz-
I don’t understand how that tweet suggests the big bunny lost his links. Could you explain that?
Do it for my sake.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Chase cc links in his blog were direct cc affiliate links #bigdinero. Now they point to links provided by cardbenefit which is an intermediary #muchlessdinero So, not sure what is going on, if he lost direct cc links like DansDeals, Frequent Miler, Deals We Like, Mommy Points and so many others recently.

Great links today! Loved photos of Russian rooms, great photographer behind that work. That article about official name change is hilarious!!
Thank you,

I don’t do anything else but steal content. 24/7. Better this way than shilling credit cards 24/7. Hehe.
You’re always welcome and thanks.
I owe you an email, sorry.

Frankly, I take Uber home from the office every night and didn’t even know I could tip on Uber. Maybe I’ll look into it.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
There is a way to set a tip as default or I think tip after each ride. I am not sure if they are referring to that or actually giving cash tips to drivers. I really felt sorry abt the guy driving me for just $22 from Detroit Airport to Ann Arbor. These guys are not getting rich this way. Oh, I am not getting rich blogging this way too, a big fat zero yesterday. The Titans are laughing. Me too lol.
Helmholtz says
As I understand it, that’s only for taxis — not for uberX (most common) or the other “actual” Uber drivers.
Only people getting rich off Uber are investors, software engineers, and entrepreneurs.
Seth says
What is this tipping Uber drivers business? I thought one of the points to Uber was that you don’t need to tip? I guess I need to read more into this before I lose my 4.7 rating and nobody wants to take me 1.2 miles to the bar anymore ๐ Oh, and I would gladly pay more to keep the service level at a higher standard.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Me too, love paying less of course but would pay more for a higher standard. I think Uber is trying to squeeze the competition before they raise prices. They always operated…at the edge.
Raj says
Why do you now point your Milesbuzz links to Twitter? It’s an extra click instead of just going to the article or comment and very annoying. I understand the Twitter ego thing, but I’m hoping you’re better than that ๐
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Has absolutely nothing to do with Twitter and my ego. I can assure you, not much ego with me!
I have been making hints left and right here.
I am in a tight spot. I spend way too much time on this blog which has lasted way more than I ever imagined! I do not make more than minimum wage. I get nada from ads. If it was not for some credit cards from my household and some of you guys I assure you Amazon would not sustain it and the day to say “phuck it, this is insane to keep going!” would have come a long time ago (like it has with SO many other blogs!). So I am in a balancing act….This annoying practice you mention is part of the balancing act #hint
When they kick me out or that company goes under I would blog more about it #hint2

FYI – did anyone notice Bankrate’s stock is down 45% today? Can’t be a good sign for the real titans of the CC-selling industry.

Whoa-hoh!! TPG’s net worth just slid by 25%!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Wow!
Back in January 12 the stock prices was at $25. Today under $7. Isn’t that around the time TPG sold his site? Nice job TPG, selling at the top and…
hopefully not holding all the way down LOL.
To all: I would sign a card you get here anywhere you want….if you are an attractive female #BOOM!

PedroNY says
I was wondering out loud to myself if it impacted TPG Brian in anyway. He is a savvy guy, I imagine if he could, he sold RATE long time ago — if his selling agreement is locked up in equity, that’s a major hit, gulp! Maybe he has an earn-out provision in his agreement at 3 or 5 year mark… who knows maybe it was drafted as post-closing options on equity, not sure if these converted yet. I mean, there is a right way to sell a business with some downside protection, most lawyers in this space would cover him, at least good ones.
All that cash, I am sure it is in his well diversified portfolio, earning 5-5.5% annual yield, with no-load, low cost index funds… right? ๐
Cheers,
PedroNY
TravelBloggerBuzz says
We ‘ll probably never know but sure sold at a good time in hindsight.
Judging from some pics he has posted online, not sure about that diversified portfolio ๐

Banks are bullish. Airlines are bullish. Hotels are bullish. Understandable. Things are good for them right now.
Push WILL come to shove one day, and they will again, as it was in 2010, appreciate customers who don’t default and pay on-time religiously even if it means [much] smaller profit margin to them.
“Normal” people won’t give them the volumes they need to keep up appearances for their shareholders. They’ll need us again.
We just need to sit this one out. Have a little faith.
