This is going to be short. Ok, I have said that many times before…Lets buzz around the blogosphere together…
The now infamous Chase 5/24 Rule Explained in Detail. If there is one bank restriction that has hit this quirky hobby that induced change in behavior (for real) among us hobbyists, I think this is the one. What I find it amazing is that it was introduced formally on May 24 a few years ago…and no blogger was in on that date linkage! Whatever.
A Continuously Updated Global Display of Aviation Incidents and Accidents. Wow, this is great!
A long interview of the Delta CEO. Preventing Cockiness, Arriving On Time More, and Viral Videos. Almost came off as a real person with not as much as the typical CEO BS…
The 23 best unknown travel destinations. Well, not to my readers. But still, a nice list.
The guy who co-founded Apple but sold his shares for just $800 has a very uplifting story. (HT:Report to TBBManagement, you know who you are). Ok, he won’t be the first one to sell shares in a company that will go on to huge success, it happens. What I find incredibly sad is that he lost his life savings many years later when his home was broken into as he had everything “invested” in gold bars, WTF!
In Manitoba, Canada there is a very odd tourist attraction. Snake orgies. I kid you not. I was going to post a video but changed my mind. I am sure you can find many other shocking videos online. We like to educate around here. Learn about snakes too, so here is something for you. Focus, focus, focus. Lol…
Male snakes are so focused on reproduction, they don’t eat during the mating season.
Nice interview with some losers named Buffett, Munger and Gates.
The Loyalty Lobby guest report from North Korea continues, I really like it!
Cost of beer around the world. I believe it about Oslo. Not sure about Prague!
BLOG BUZZ
This section is for advanced level hobbyists and veteran blog readers & personal rants & stuff
Award Maximizer has been updated. I use this, it’s my first go to place to get an initial read on how miles I need to burn.
Why I don’t plan to keep my Amex Business Platinum. Good post. I liked the beatings of AMEX management. Do you all remember how they had the best customer service reps!
Speaking of…Lol back to you Deb! (HT:Reddit)
I am so glad Daily Getaways are over, what a waste of time! But always good for bloggers to post about about the daily deal. Layup in blogging terms. I would bet not a single one took the time to actually buy one of them!
The clickbait shit continues. Videos of passengers fighting, posts about pee that of course bloggers have to blog about when they once see it, never ending credit card limited time offers and amazing excuses they keep coming up with to push credit card product out to readers. Remember, the list is in reverse chronological order. Yeah, Points, Miles and Martinis started this pee thingie, sick!
One Mile at a Time – “8 Reasons I Love The Citi ThankYou Premier Card” [Imagine if the card did not have just a 30k bonus. This is salesmanship folks!]
Points Miles & Martinis – “United Flight Attendant Forces Passenger to Pee In Cup!” [Always breaking some “amazing” stories in that blog, wow!]
Live and Let’s Fly – “Woman: United Force Me to Pee in Cup, Then Ridiculed Me” [Lol. look at me, I copy other Boarding Area click bait blogs too!]
Then everyone started writing about the rumor about the laptop ban in Europe flights that was to be confirmed. Of course they all wrote about the rumor when the rumor first came out. Tomorrow they will all have yet another post about the details of the new policy. Then more posts on what credit cards you can get to make you feel better about being separated from your laptop and on and on. Zzzzzzzz.
Ok, I DO hate the laptop ban. I can NOT travel without my laptop! So this just blows big time. Is it me or are we going to see international travel impacted in a BIG way going forward? Of course. Maybe this explains all the super low fare deals to/from Europe lately already? Well, I can fly out of Toronto to avoid this… #developing
And I leave you with this…

I remember paying something like 30 cents for a beer in Litomyšl, Czechoslovakia in 2001. Prague was a little more expensive but still cheap..

Cinco.
I was in Prague in 1987. Before the wall came down. I remember getting 4 of huge kielbasas in buns for less than $1. And dined in the finest Russian restaurant in town, several courses for something like $8…Americans in jeans among Russians in suites. Those were the days
Be like the Sky guys, MMS says. WTF! I think the dude is ready for his next venture, a mediation retreat. May involve yoga too. smh.
Nick @ Personal Finance Digest says
Just came over here to mention the MMS thing, very curious.

I guess he’s feeling like running a CC pumping blog isn’t all that fulfilling on an existential level. Actually some good thoughts in that post – but very surreal seeing it come from MMS.
As I read the post, I kept waiting for the punchline…thinking it was some sort of goofy/cheesy post that would roll into some affiliate links.
John says
Bow tie sold out his integrity Years ago. Doesn’t matter what he says at this point. He gave up his ability to be taken seriously & shouldn’t write posts like that on MMS. It looks ridiculous coming from him. Better for him if he starts a different blog to do it.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I am sensing he is trying to get fired so he can then focus on MMS 2.0? Speed up the non compete agreement perhaps. Whichever way you see it, this level of boring writing gets bought out. And here I am keeping quality up and have to resort to selling secured credit cards…
Bwahahahahahahhahahaha…
It is what it is…
Maybe I should interview him but I doubt he will answer my zinger questions 🙂

Need some expert help from you guys. Client just emailed me this question:
>>>>>>>>For Los Angeles to Melbourne, we have a choice between business class on either a Qantas A380 or Virgin Australia B777. Any experience with these and which might be a better experience?
The A380 is superior I assume?
Seth says
Virgin Australia. Window aisle seats, reverse herringbone. Double check the seat maps but I think all VA 777s were reconfigured this way. Qantas’ product is a few years old and 2-2-2 config.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Thanks, I let them know!
SB says
VA for sure. QF is pretty underwhelming in J

I’m amazed Reykjavik isn’t on the list. I forget conversion, but I remember when I was drinking it that the Happy Hour special for a craft brew was about $13 for a 12oz-ish glass. A flight was around $30. I know that’s craft, but still I remember all beer was pretty steep (like most other groceries in Iceland).
Good selection though considering.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Good catch…I did not realize it was not on it!
Peteco says
Aeroplan stock down 60% as Air Canada announced they will cancel the agreement with them. It’s puzzling that investors were duped to invest in a company whose revenue is 100% tied to one customer, who in turn has many other option besides working with Aeroplan.
I guess this is the death of Mileage program spin offs, at least in this form.

This is my leading link tomorrow. I have the same feelings as you. WTF were they thinking!

Nicawawa and Panama — both sub-$1 beers. Not great beers but cold and wet like the ex.

Maybe have you a guest post on Nicawawan beers and your ex? 🙂

NYC most expensive beer city in the US! I wish there was a grocery store price beer list, pretty sure NYC would also win this one by a good margin.
I had a thought, and want to see if I am missing something.
If I’ve already had the Ameriprise Amx card with a bonus a couple years back…but isn’t it still a $600+ value of sign up if I apply again?
$200 air credit in ’17 & ’18
$200 Uber between app date and next year (will use every penny)
Amex lounge (LGA is my closest airport & JFK has a priority pass lounge)
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Not seeing any holes in your reasoning…
Anyone can confirm?

Daraius faced public ridicule for inappropriate behaviours that were most assuredly not mother-in-law-approved. Now he is sharing his personal internal journey with others because he has an online forum to do so. In this way he is carrying his message to others in an apparent effort to be helpful to them; this is Step 12 of the 12 Steps.
While it can easily be argued that the MMS blog isn’t the place for this, I would suggest that for some people, his recent spiritual/emotional thoughts might be a helluva lot more useful than circles & arrows, particularly for those who share low self-esteem issues.
As for me, I have found these posts interesting…and more noteworthy than yet another sensationalized click bait airline pax incident or Vendoming description.
Ironically, though, I can’t help but be concerned about folks who are prey for constant credit card sign ups/high $ spend in order to temporarily help their own self-esteem, only to fall into a financial nightmare as a result. This is the crux of the demon that is the credit card pimping machine. Wonder which circle of the Inferno all these banking ‘procurers’ will be assigned to (4th or 8th? talk amongst yourselves)…
TravelBloggerBuzz says
I like this comment so much I may feature it tommorrow in its entirety! Let me know if you are NOT okay with that.

Bravo, bravo. They could care less…it is all about how many credit cards they can sell! At least here I am pretty confident my readers know what they are doing. But sometimes I wake up in cold sweat I run into someone at a hotel bar in a distraught state, obviously homeless, who says to the person sitting next to him “My downhill started when I applied for a secured credit card in a blog named TBB” 🙂
I say often, (I should say it every time), that this hobby is NOT suited to most people here in the US!
To all the victims fooled by arrows and sensational urgent clickbait headlines…we stand for a moment of silence!

Guy is seriously effed up. If he ends up hurting ppl Im not gonna say “He was such a nice guy, I didnt see it”. He has some serious self hatred veins running thru him. I hope no one is near him when he pops. Couldnt have happened to a bigger douchebag
John says
Perfect. I can’t stand scumbags like him. Trying to show he wants to do “good” as if people will forget who he’s been forwver. Does he think people are that dumb and blind? Strike that. Trump = proof that people are even more dumb and blind.

Sooo what exactly happened to MMS? Anyone know the full story?
