Note: TBB is on vacation at the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada. Until his return, this blog site will likely not have any of the usually legendary Buzz posts:-) TBB is taking the opportunity to do his own filler posts. The eclectic journey through the blogosphere may return after vacation is over, stay tuned! This upcoming week will be very light, mega hiking expected to be done!
Spent the day in Jasper National Park. Went to Maligne Lake and then on the way back stopped at Medicine Lake and hiked the Maligne Canyon. Saw LOTS of wild animals today. Already up to bear numero 6 ( a super fast moving black bear crossing the road!), several elk with huge antlers, many mule deer and big horned sheep! Also spent some time in Jasper and visited the Fairmont Jasper Park property (confirmed it is not a big deal). Also took a tour of the Hinton, Alberta metropolis:-) Ended with a run at super market IGA to get some food to bring back for a picnic. And did laundry at the hotel. Long drive back to Calgary tomorrow for final two nights. Plan to take old Highway 93A and stop at several places. I have LOTS of pictures but I can’t download them from my digital camera. So I am borrowing a few my wife posted at Facebook so you can all get an idea what my eyes saw yesterday!
What Is the No. 1 Thing Investors Should Be Worried About Over the Next Few Years?
Investors need not worry about market-related concerns if they have a financial plan in place that is focused on accomplishing cherished goals by means of a diversified low-cost investment portfolio that is rebalanced at set intervals. If they insist on worrying about something, they should worry about forces and events they can actually control.
The markets will do what markets do. There will always be market pundits or gurus screaming that another bubble is about to burst or that we are in the beginning of the biggest bull-market run in history. Please don’t listen to them. Nobody knows what the future will hold. This is why your financial plan is so important.
Markets fluctuate, sometimes violently. Sometimes I wish we get an old-fashioned market correction so things can get back to normal as we have been on a remarkable bull market run since early 2009. It will come, nobody knows when.
Meanwhile, instead of investing your energies in worrying, which leads only to losses on many levels, how about following the news so you know what the market is doing, and proactively improving your marketable skills so you can better react in this fast-changing, competitive employment landscape? Combining your financial plan with your proactive approach to self-improvement will give you peace of mind that will enable you to direct your focus where it counts most: family, career, hobbies, spirituality, charitable causes.

Buzz I love Fridays!!!!!!!!!!!! Why because there is a good chance MMS is going to post an interview with someone that will get the comment section brewing. Well he must of known you are on vacation, pretty benign interview today, no controversy. The young man interviewed seemed nice and he invented software that tells you which is the best credit card for points and miles. I invented that a while back myself, it’s called my Brain……………How’s the Canadian Bacon up there?

I just got to Calgary after driving (and stopping) all day. I am so so behind on all this blog stuff.
We had a major feast the other night at the Fairmont Banff Springs and cleaned out all dining certs. I had the ribs and they were delicious! Had some bacon in the breakfast buffets…not that impressed, it was likely imported lol.

The way you are enjoying those multiple bears seems to beg for a new term. How about “bear churn”? Everytime we need to get away from it all (maybe every 3 mos or so. 😉 )
TravelBloggerBuzz says
bear churn…I like it! My favorite animal up here is the mountain goat!

You should start a blog and get RICH!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Or you should start one and treat it like I do and get poorer while losing your eyebrows:-)

I am very very afraid that this is indeed how it is going to go down! With so many bloggers now in BA expect ridiculous battles and even deeper bouts of credibility loss to occur. The circus is about to take one step up!

” how about following the news so you know what the market is doing”.
I think this is the first time I’ve disagreed with you, my friend.
When people at Vanguard’s yearly meeting ask, “How is the market doing?”, the standard reply is “Who cares?”.
You have no control over it and it will eventually go up. One of the things I am vaguely aware of, but know will head up over time. For those that are super aware, I fear “market timing”, which a friend of mine attempted, after he felt he couldn’t afford to lose any more after the last crash. I’m afraid to ask him if he is still in 100% cash!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Actually the excerpt you quoted did not come out right! It was meant to go with “just in case there is a buying opportunity”. It still bothers me that readers likely read it the way you read it. But I would not point it out to the editors, I let it go:-)
I agree with Vanguard by the way;-)
I don’t do market timing. Market timing is for people who just have not gotten burned enough yet.
You need to add the Canadian Rockies to your national park adventures. VAST areas of wilderness. Seen 6 bears, including a baby bear that we will never forget. Today we saw a mountain goat at the edge of rocks at the side of a mountain. Amazing sights! And you will love the hikes up here, you can hike for months, so many trails

PS. Going to have a hard time justifying deducting the camera as a business expense if you forget to bring the cord and need to borrow your wife’s facebook pics! LOLed!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Yeah, I know, I still can’t believe I forgot it! I have so many pictures and I am so so behind now on everything.
