Register for the latest IHG Rewards promo HERE. This is nowhere near the Accelerate promos in the recent past. Same advice applies, register before you forget as it only takes a few seconds. See what you have, make a mental note of it and move on. If you are a road warrior frequently staying in IHG hotels, go ahead and plan your stays in such a way to take full advantage of the promo. If not a road warrior, this promo is NOT mattress run territory, remember those? I haven’t bothered with an IHG promo in a very long time, I stay for freeeeee!
It sure did not take long for United to raise the first bag fee to $30. We are going to see this become standard at $30 now…
Pretty good 30% Citi ThankYou Points transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. My concern here is, with so many posts about it, this will be the next program to devalue, thanks in advance bloggers!
More airline routes to Europe! It is now Primera Air linking Berlin to Toronto, Boston and New York. This is in addition to the routes this airline flies to London and Paris to Washington DC, Boston, New York, Toronto and Montreal. Flights to Berlin will start at 149 euros, who needs miles you guys!

The conditions in this Greek immigrant camp are hideous, so embarrassing! And sad!
This is not good! Skim reading is the new normal. The effect on society is profound.
When the reading brain skims texts, we don’t have time to grasp complexity, to understand another’s feelings or to perceive beauty. We need a new literacy for the digital age
We need to cultivate a new kind of brain: a “bi-literate” reading brain capable of the deepest forms of thought in either digital or traditional mediums. A great deal hangs on it: the ability of citizens in a vibrant democracy to try on other perspectives and discern truth; the capacity of our children and grandchildren to appreciate and create beauty; and the ability in ourselves to go beyond our present glut of information to reach the knowledge and wisdom necessary to sustain a good society.

This is very interesting: The Most Difficult Languages To Learn For English Speakers. I knew Greek and Chinese were up there! And Spanish is easy. But I am surprised German is all by itself and not in one of the two most difficult categories!
I still say that this program will be devalued next, so…hurry? Virgin Atlantic Sweet Spots.
I was going to add a link about Bob Woodward’s book about Trump but I did not want to pour it on. Just listening to the phone call of them two shows all you need to know what an unbelievably incompetent moron we have as our President, WTF!!!!<——Oh, hi Mark!
Resting my calf still…no running. Walked one mile, no pain. And then yesterday last night I ran one mile. The comeback is ahead!
Last week I made the second to last college tuition payment for son. And HS junior daughter is now driving herself to/from school and everywhere else #winning

English comes from west Germanic, specifically a group called the Angles who migrated to Britain around the fifth century. I’m actually surprised it’s not in the easiest group based on that…

Sam, I already had that inserted in the draft Friday post…If VFTW writes about it with a shocking video I will certainly delete it now.
Has he posted a video yet from inside that quarantined plate? I can see the clickbait headline…

Two observations:
I think PointChaser got chased off her own blog after the Walmart fiasco.
I noticed that there are no comments on the last eleven “articles” on Frugal Travel Guy.

I had a feeling you’d have an opinion about this. I’m not retiring TDM, just getting more eyeballs on topics I care about. Writing a book was a real learning experience about what I enjoy and what I don’t, and the bottom line is that I’ve outgrown the drama.
If a rant posts in the woods and no one reads it, did it really occur? I’m sure I’ll still share a contrary opinion from time to time, but daily outrage is a lonely endeavor. I’ll leave it to you as you’re the best at it. (Feel free to share in your post tomorrow.)
Peace.
