And of course, when it happens, they make yet another post telling us how upset they are and how badly behaved the airlines are lol. Like One Mile Card at a Time who wrote “Ouch: Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Now Adding Fuel Surcharges To Most Delta Awards”…I call BS! These bloggers don’t care about your hobby, it is a BIG BUSINESS pushing bank product out the door, come on!

What is wrong with Hyatt? Is the management team okay or is it in disarray or what? After recently touting the Oasis home sharing properties and how you can burn your World of Hyatt points at them…they just killed the whole deal and exited Oasis. Wow! Hey guys, maybe, you should consider it, you should do better due diligence BEFORE entering these types of deals? Maybe I can help with consulting? You can pay me with points and Globalist status lol. And then we see Marriott expanding its Tribute Portfolio Pilot homes…Hmm, maybe there is something about that scaling synergy thing in the industry?

Primera was like a shooting star. A very dull, very fast shooting star. Add all of these Boston routes and then poof. I just saw a plane go to Stansted weeks ago. What a world.
The Uber piece was helpful! But it missed Eugene. Uber is banned. Progressives don’t like competition?
“As it turns out, the companies are allowed to operate in the city of Eugene, but they have decided against it due to the city’s regulations.
Uber offers rides to customers in 450 cities around the world, and is very popular in college towns around the country.
Laura Hammond, the communication analyst for the City of Eugene, says that ride sharing services can operate here in the city, as long as they follow certain regulations.
“We asked Uber to do 3 basic things – Driver background check through our police department, insurance levels that met our needs and vehicle safety inspections,” said Hammond.”
Background checks, insurance, and vehicle safety??? The horror!
I got an earful when I took a cab from the airport. Other cities have regulations so what makes Eugene different? Interesting public choice question.
I have no idea why uber made the call to leave Eugene in 2015 but stays in other regulated cities.
I just take issue with vague, leading claims and partially informed partisan jabs. It’s the city you live in, and it took me two seconds to find the article from 2017 on why they don’t operate there.
I flew to Eugene from London to archival work. Their special
collections is simply wonderful. I was surprised.

Uber in Vegas is great. There is a dedicated area in the outside parking lot and it works like a charm. In LA you need to specify where you are, like “between terminal 6 and 7 upstairs” in an empty space where it’s easy to spot a car coming. Easy.
