Currently roaming the streets of Hong Kong as you read this so please do not expect me answering comments as diligently as before! You can follow TBB on Twitter for trip updates!
Selected links while still traveling in Hong Kong. I am moving to the Intercontinental from the Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui in a few hours. Did the Big Buddha, had lunch/dinner at the Tim Ho Wan (yes those BBQ buns are unreal!) and rode the ferry from the island back to Kowloon. Walked around Kowloon at night and I am still shocked how shopping dominates everything here! And getting around is so easy following the signs that are everywhere. You can’t get lost here! Sadly, I think I may have caught a bug so it appears I am going to lay low today Sunday, hopefully in the Intercontinental’s Presidential suite #dreaming
“Why Six Weeks Wasn’t Long Enough in Bishkek, Kyrgyzhstan” – Yomadic My favorite real travel blog online. Any questions?
List of Airline Stopover and Routing Rules – Travel Is Free A great and updated resource. TIF continues to shine and showing us all what blogging should be about instead of blatant relentless conversion baiting “expert” crap that is everywhere in this space!
TravelCon OC, a new miles/points event that will take place on February 28th, 2015 at the Embassy Suites Anaheim – South hotel just a few steps away from Disneyland. I think it is already sold out. I like all these guys who hone their craft instead of honing online marketing financial product pushing skills. So I give this conference my coveted TBB seal of approval! Do I recommend you go to events like Chicago Seminars and FTUs? Hell NO! Why? Well these two events are full of blogs in the world famous TBB Ignore list that’s why! I am not angry by the way…just getting blasted with really good coffee in this Hyatt lounge as I type this 🙂
Credit Cards Affiliate Links: The Debate Continues – The Gate I need to kill my obsession about this topic…but so far I have been unable to. Anyways, I posted a comment there explaining where I come from and trying to find a justification for jumping into the murky pit…
Travel Is Free had a ridiculous rant on bloggers who copy his stuff. I was going to link it here but I decided to pass for two reasons. One is why do a long rant and not name names so readers know who you are talking about? Two is talking up View From The Wing, one of the blogs in the TBB Ignore list, just made me shake my head. And thanks a lot to you guys for generously backlinking to TBB 🙂
Alaska Airlines Mileage Partners: Maximizing Your Miles – Points With A Crew Excellent primer on this! Lets hope Alaska Airlines makes it through as a stand alone airline to stop the revenue based tide…My bet is it won’t. I am willing to bet $0 on this bet! I only bet when I am 100% sure I will win 🙂
Better non affiliate LINK for the 50k US Airways card that comes with an extra 10k miles on anniversary. Tell the bloggers screaming to sell you the subpar offer that pays THEM to stick it! Message to BOP (Best Offers Patrol): No more pushing the US affiliate link here, thanks! Tough keeping up on the latest links while traveling so please let me know if this is no longer active, thank you!
Most ridiculous blog post of the month to date is one at Points, Miles & Martinis by Mrs. Weekly Flyer titled “Saved $390! How I’m Racking Up the Savings With American Express”. Two lines intro, three lines of offers used, three lines of “new” crappy Amex offers and then BANG! Nine Credit Card affiliate links, followed with two lines conclusion. OMG! Don’t knock yourself out working so hard over there, WOW!
I love you Chris Farley!

Tres…and fully an hour+ later. Slow night, I guess.
State University College of Malibu Adjacent says
TIF doesn’t link to the post he doesn’t like, and that draws criticism from you.
You don’t link to the blogs you don’t like, and that’s a matter of principle.
I think there’s little question that TIF > TBB. No matter who Drew is.
Jed says
TBB may not link to the blogs he ignores, but he does name names. He wanted Drew to do the same. He certainly wasn’t encouraging Drew to provide links to the offending blogs.
BTW, Travelcon is not sold out. Tickets are still available for $129.
State University College of Malibu Adjacent says
But he wouldn’t even link to Drew!
TravelBloggerBuzz says
Hey dude….I linked to his great post above that. This rant was just ridiculous. So get off my back and listen to Jed who got my point.
Points With A Crew says
Thanks for the link to me. I now know you’re not one of those evil copycat bloggers!!!! 🙂
I could see Alaska staying on its own for awhile. Depends on how things go with the current war with Delta

Drew’s HOMAGE de GLEFF, scares me. Swimming with the sharks (AKA Titans) is not a good idea. I really like Drew and Carrie and wish them great success, they represent all that is good in this community, but I am worried about them getting taken advantage of.

“Sold out at the top”.
That’s half right.

I am back and operation “catch up” is underway…
Can’t believe I made time to do a post…
Managing to not miss a daily post is amazing.
