We go on about the ever present topic of miles & points valuations, learn more about the Aeroplan changes, check out some new offers for Amex EveryDay Cards, wait for the Milepoint Relaunch, register for a juicy Park Inn stay promo, learn of some good travel blogs, bike through the Wakhan Corridor, look at the huge crowds in Hajj, and it is always time to “Buy Gold” (just kidding) and so much more!<——I learn to place my exclamation marks in strategic places by MMS!

Is it me but are you also getting tired of the continued devaluations and beatings lately or what?
After a long absence from the amazing TBB blog, Matt at Saverocity Travel finally comes through with a fantastic post about ‘The Golden Rule of Points and Miles“. I must admit that posts about valuations and getting all technical about it and even going all the way to assigning values to each kind of mile or points is, well, ridiculous. We are all different. You earned them. YOU use them the way you see fit. It’s like trying to mold people to fit your own definition of, say retirement, independence, freedom or what not.
The Lazy Traveler takes a deeper look into the Aeroplan devaluation just announced.
Doctor of Credit has information on some higher bonuses for the Amex Blue Cash Preferred and Amex EveryDay Preferred cards. Good luck trying to get them, you may lose your fingers!
Some chatter on Twitter about something happening at Milepoint this weekend. Something about a relaunch, having different tiers, and stuff like that. I guess I may have to go take a look. It is so hard doing a Flyer Talk 2, that huge base of users is, well, huge!
Nice 15,000 Club Carlson bonus for just one night in a Park Inn property. Not that many of them out there. I stayed in the Park Inn Toledo one night, got upgraded to some type of suite at the top floor with a beautiful view but the fact remained it was kind of a scary property. Register HERE.
13 Travel and Language Blogs You Should Be Reading. I read a few of them. Is any of them you consider a must read?
15 best apps to meet other people while traveling. The problem with these apps is that most don’t have that many users. Is anyone having a good experience with any of these? I have heard of several but nothing sticks out and says Use Me. Personally, I am going back and forth using Farmersonly.com and seekingarrangment.com. Who is your daddy? LOL, relax!
Video from biking through the Wakhan Corridor. Off the beaten path? This is it! Absolutely beautiful!
A back to school tax break refresher. Great comprehensive article on the subject!

Buzz-
What an idea for an app “Use Me Personally”. A sure winner.
Meanwhile, do you think they’ll be a level at Milepoint for people who log-in once a year? i want to be a big shot somewhere.
And I am-First.

Totally agree w the guy about the value of various points. For example, I’m not likely to stay in a fancy schmancey hotel like Buzz in the first place, more probably in an apartment or will try to find some kind of good value place.
Anyway just wanted to make a comment so you will know we are reading and appreciating your efforts, also like the goalie cat ! ! !
Yeah let’s do that raw language immersive thing ! ! ! I was so lost in Paris, didn’t get a chance to brush up on my French and even if I had it wouldn’t have been enough I’m pretty sure.
Then again you learn some Spanish and you go to Argentina or Spain and they pronounce completely different than Mexico, goodness .
But Portuguese, it is pretty similar to Spanish so if you know Spanish you have a running start.
Best way to learn foreign language is to have a sleeping dictionary.
