As you know, I spent six weeks back in Greece helping my mother move out of the family home. One of the numerous things I found was a yellow Walkman. I saw the movie Midommar. It is a horror flick taking place in a remote place in Sweden. I like weird movies but this one got a bit too long and weird at the end.
One of my all time favorite bands, Dead Can Dance, is on tour this summer. And on July 3rd they played at the magnificent Acropolis. Here is them performing the song “Xavier”, enjoy. So beautiful all around! The melody, the lyrics, the setting…damnit, couldn’t they come to Greece a few days earlier so I can finally see them live? #whining

Three presidents, including Trump, could have gone to the WTO and addressed many trade issues. For example, prohibition against forced technology transfer and conduct of state enterprises (gov interference in commercial activities of state enterprises). Moreover, an antisurge provision could have prevented China to access the US market. The president could have stopped this in a legal manner preventing China from legally putting tariffs on US goods.
Lots of missed opportunities enforcing WTO rules by the last 3 presidents.
It would have been smarter for Trump to persuade allies (JP, EU Canada etc) to negotiate as a larger block with China to follow WTO rules. The tariffs are a tax on the average consumer and the market isn’t stupid. Factories move to other countries and soy can be bought from Brazil rather than China.
I think Ramsey will be nominated for a seat at the Fed next!
