We check out the new IHG Rewards Pointbreaks hotel list, learn of the new Starwood category changes, learn all about Hyatt Gold Passport Points, we read about the final ending to the DOT vs United mistake fare because you pretended to be a Dane, laugh at Amtrak, and travel to magnificent Tibet.

Yep. After many blog posts “Hey, here is the IHG Rewards Pointbreaks Hotel Preview list, click on the Visa that now pays me” we finally get the actual Pointbreaks list. Check it out. 5,000 IHG Rewards points for a night, still one of the best values out there!
Hidden Credit Card Offers: IHG 80k + $50 & Amtrak 18k + Companion Ticket – Travel is Free You can bet your credit report pulls that you are not going to see these offers get too much publicity when the livelihood of plastic pushing bloggers depends on only pushing affiliate offers. You know, nothing to do about being nice and all, it is a matter of trust!
If you have the Barclays US Air card, when you log in, look for a “50% more miles” promotion button that gives you 1.5 miles per dollar from March 1 to June 30. Maximum is 10,000 points. Not much but hey, we like to maximize our miles haul around here. Some of us love maximizing stuff like this, it is in our DNA or something.
We have the annual ritual of Starwood hotel category changes, it is HERE.
Overview of SPG category changes March 10, 2015 – Loyalty Traveler Nice breakdown of the changes. Nice to see Europe going down, sinking euro baby!
Complete Guide to Hyatt Gold Passport Rewards – Chapter 1: Earning Hyatt Rewards Points – Travel is Free Excellent comprehensive breakdown. Without getting your eye balls gouged by Chase card affiliate links of all kinds. I remember Million Mile Secrets had a similar post. No doubt this is better and your eye balls are safe. So show your support where it counts!
Here is that magnificent 20% off Hyatt award promo again. This became a case study to highlight “glorious” hideous blogging practices.
DOT response to United First Class $50 Danish Kroner fares – Loyalty Traveler Nice summary of this unfortunate situation. Apparently thousands of douchebags read The Points Guy who encouraged readers to file DOT complaints (still can’t get over that, wow!). I had no doubt DOT will rule this way. I am not one to be a United Airlines cheerleader but always said they had the right to do this, they did it fast and so be it, move on! Thanks to all the filers for wasting DOT’s staff time on this, our tax dollars at work. LONG PAUSE. I had to step outside to calm down.
Government calls out cheaters who booked United mistake fares – Elliot That special moment when you agree with this dude. Nice raging click bait headline by the way as usual.
Saverocity has introduced an Award Booking service. Judging by the quality of the operation, if you are into the market for such a service, you should check it out. I have just inquired about their affiliate channel….bwahahahahaha.
Amazing Underwater Timelapse Shows the Otherworldly Nature of Sea Life – Twisted Sifter OMG. So amazingly psychedelic/magical/trippy/magnificent!
9 people who will piss you off on the Amtrak – Matador Network HILARIOUS! The Puker. The couple that just banged in the bathroom. The couple that should ‘ve flown. LOl!
Arranging Tibet Travel Permit & My Lhasa And Surrounding Areas Itinerary – Loyalty Lobby As the Intercontinental Lhasa is on the Pointbreaks list perhaps you are thinking about going to Tibet and this post can help.
The surprising investment experts who use index funds – Monevator Never equate investments that sound sophisticated (read: alternative funds, private placement, venture capital and myriad others) with being the right thing to invest in.They are complicated enough to justify the steep fees surrounding their purchase and ongoing costs. Usually should be left to suckers and/or individuals who can afford to lose what they put into them (hopefully not more than a tiny part of their portfolio).
My eye balls see a lot of crap every day in Feedly. I have reserved the finest of them all to appear here with no comment. Just excuses (or not) to pump their readers to oblivion. I find it very offensive when anyone tries to sell me something in such a blatant fashion again and again and again. Isn’t it funny how Delta Points finally turned so “angry” while continuing to pump Delta credit cards like, well, in the past.
I introduce you to the TBB cat!
Thank you for reading and supporting my blog by clicking my $$ links! I had more to say but I feel somewhat deflated. Too much tax stuff and long talk with teenage son about life in general…feel drained but took time late on Tuesday night to put this out. Even though you all have forgotten I carry plastic too in the past two weeks and trust you guys can handle it. SOS to BOP, hope you are okay!

Buzz-
Catching up with yesterday:
Forever should be one word, not two. For example “It seems like the card pumping will go on forever”.
I assume it was a typo or maybe spell check put of control. I wanted to call this to your attention so the TBB archives will be as perfect as ever.
Any updates on MP’s dog?
Third.

You meant “put off control” not “put of control” there.

It looks like nothing much has changed with Tibet since I was there in the mid-90’s. I had to buy a package tour from a KTM backpacker tour operator for Tibet and Bhutan. I wonder if they are still eager to get Dalai Lama pics or do they just download them nowadays?
Vendome4ever says
I know what you meant, you don’t see much of a change until a Grand Hyatt pops up. A hallmark of civilization. At least there’s an Intercontinental for backpackers.
Oliver2002 says
Well, you need a Hyatt (PH or GH, no less) and daily EY F service (preferably A380) available with AA points for any location to get decent traction 😉

You missed the best part – flooding the DOT with complaints not based in reality (you regularly shop for airfares in Danish kroner from your US address?) makes the DOT less likely to side with consumers over future mistake fares. Good job greedheads and moron readers!

Man, did TPG get creamed in his own comments section on that boneheaded DOT post.
Chris says
The problem is that he just need to have 3-4 giveaways and people will forget about it.
You need to be a blind sheep to keep on clicking these a-holes links. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me 10 times, I’m a moron.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to comment and especially my buddy Yanis Varoufakis for the support. But dude aren’t you busy reforming lately or are you just screwing around? P.S. Like your wife 🙂
Yeah, this DOT Dane issue really got under my skin, wow! Apparently it got under TPG’s skin too, here is proof lol:

Mommy Points continued to rave about Hyatt resorts and still not daring to post the non affiliate Hyatt Visa link. If you are not allowed to do so it would be nice to know. To stay mum about it is horrifically pathetic imho. #sosad.
I am on a roll…1040 roll that is!
Thinking how to pimp my Uber link now that they partner with SPG. If I had direct cc links I could pimp both Uber and SPG Amex links #titanicthoughts

Any blogger who posts the Hyatt Visa link is an a-hole, since you get a better offer walking through a dummy reservation on the Hyatt website than applying directly. They should say THAT.
TravelBloggerBuzz says
That is way too much work for them. I will be happy if they just posted the darn link for a start! But for them to go on and on about Hyatt hotels and not say anything about the Visa should make every human angry. The only ones who are not are either fellow pumping bloggers or _________ (censored by the mean bastards running this hateful blog and who are hiding behind anonymity and cause so much harm to the hobby bringing awareness to practices like these when they could be pumping along like themselves and rolling in the dough)….Ok, that was a little long, felt great though!
TBB post gor rolled by the 1040 truck, sorry readers!
