Well, the blogosphere has been taken over by Black Friday and airfare deal posts. Along with the usual gift card & Amex offers and other stuff. This blog does not post this stuff, there are numerous other blogs doing that almost endlessly every day. What this blog does is goes through the blogosphere and bring you quality content that is educational, entertaining (with my spin mostly) and sometimes even inspiring (rare).
And, as I have alluded to, the blogosphere production of quality content is substantially diminishing lately. Blog mergers has contributed to that but it is mostly the realization that publishing deals in the blogs will directly lead to killing of them. And of course the ongoing industry recovery/capacity improvements/ savage devaluations/severe lack of awards space/etc….I could go on but lets stay positive and jump to the few links that I found worthy.
I can exhale now. Fairmont President’s Club, of which I am a lifetime Platinum member, will stay alive for all of 2017, hooray! Accor bought Fairmont and we dodged a bullet…but I am not that hopeful it will be the same for 2018. I expect Accor hotels to kill FPC and roll it into the mega sucky Accor Le Club loyalty program.
There is so much credit card pimping in the miles & points blogosphere that never ceases to amaze me! Then again, I look at this headline and shake my head: Americans open 500,000 credit card accounts on Black Friday. At this rate, there will be even less as it looks like I may not hit the minimum required, dang you The Points Guy and all the other bank sales representatives!

Yes. And I finally tried it at the Qatar Business class lounge in DOHa! I did not like much, way too sweet.
Couple things TBB…
1) I don’t think those Airfare Deal posts are necessarily “crap”, I booked a weekend in Amsterdam for ($375 r/t) from a post on Thrifty Flyer that I wouldn’t have otherwise known about. The “crap” part of it is the “Titans” posting it sensationally a day after it goes live.
2) Pointimize is ok, more useful if you have points spread across many hotel programs I think.
3) where’s the Iran trip report????
No they are not crap. It’s just that I see SO many come my way in Feedly OMG! And the sales reps always pushing the credit cards in each post. Of course they take so long to add them that the deals are already gone, TPG is awesome at that, wow, all the staff!!

I get theflightdeal and a few others in my phone from Twitter as texts. I looked at the Europe fares but we just could not settle down on dates yet as there is a good chance I may need to go back to Greece with my brother to move mother to a small apartment, the house is way too big for her to handle.
Thanks on the feedback on Pointimize, I added it to my arsenal. Last few times I used Hotel Hustle it did not work properly, is it only me?
Iran trip report update: Finished editing pics, deleting some, rotating some upside down, etc. Next step is to upload them. Then resize them. Then started writing. Of course I just finished resizing the pics from my June Asia trip…and about to start writing that one…any day now…it is coming…maybe a few years from now I will get it done. I probably would quit by then, definitely do not go long on TBB lol.
