I have been around the financial planning industry for a while. To the point where I have a hard time finding anything interesting or completely new I have not heard before. But this I learned and was just amazed I did not know about it. Very limited application in a situation you do not wish to be in but still…I did not know about it! They have also added a a luxury hotel stay complete with a three-course Michelin-starred dinner for your entitled doggy while you are probably in a banging vacation. I could have made this a single blog post when I first found it if I also had a ghost writer on the payroll 🙂

I was determined to NOT blog today. I just felt deflated after this comment. You know, it is pretty deflating to check what this site has earned and seeing 57 cents from June 12 to June 27. I mean, come on now! And then to get a comment like that by a long time reader made me feel really really bad. So, I announced no blog post to show you that I don’t like to be deflated (sounds like a Ramones song, oh wait, their song was about being sedated). Well, guess what, the longest no click streak is over baby at last! Thank you to the person who got the Chase Sapphire Preferred card with my links, it was credited on June 28. So, you all thank this person as this post is dedicated to him/her.
Has anyone upgraded Paypal account from personal to business? I am thinking of doing that to add a Donate button and have it go to TBB LLC instead of me…It just makes me feel better I guess.

Thanks to reader jettyboy who shared this god awful article about The Points Guy at, please sit down, the New Yorker. I had respect for that publication. But not much after this. I have not seen such a crappy article in a long time. The writer clearly is clueless and falls for some basic shit…like he makes a “nominal fee’ every time someone clicks and gets approved for a travel rewards card on his site. Nominal my ass! And every “trick” she talks about…some of us were doing before this dude was even born. Has he ever published anything selling a card that does not make him money? I did not think so. Credibility my ass (Warning by Management: This is a second reference to TBB’s ass…when you see it for a third time….it only means he is really angry then!). I am sure he feels so so bad about all that. At least the story stated his site was sold in 2012. And she even mentions the (nicely hidden) disclosures….This is what Trump refers to…fake news. Just an embarrassing job, sad! I must admit I barfed all over myself and had to move up laundry day, so unfair!
Don’t get angry, get even!

Funny happening for all: So, I have had this black dot on my lower lip for a while. Probably started because I bit my lip way too hard one day, I don’t remember. I finally decided to take care of it. Surgery as in numbing it, cutting it, squeezing the blood out, stiches and now waiting for it to heal like looking I got punched and bloodied by a boxer Ok, not telling you this to whine again….Here is the funny part:
The doc is a dude I see at Starbucks very early in the mornings before he goes to work (I am TBBing for you of course). Ok, no big deal right? There is more. The assistant comes in and I recognize her. Before I say a word she says “Hey, I know you, I see you at Panera in the mornings, where have you been lately?”. I look at her, I look at the doc and I say…Starbucks.

Took some of my mother’s ashes in a closed glass container with me last year which clearly had some bone pieces in it, no one in security in India and Germany said anything.
Apparently, it was optional, half of the parents were there. There was a quiz too and I learned some things, been so long!
There was another one the next day, I am on a roll. That was a vicious dry streak omg! I felt like such a loser! 🙂

@TravelBloggerBuzz I’ve a friend that has been using the DONATE button from PayPal for years. No problems whatsoever. The usual problems with PayPal customer service come when one is doing a lot of MS or some other types of monkeyshines with it.
I’d say either upgrade the account or open a new separate business account and go for it!
I will try to upgrade account to business. When I am done catching up in Feedly that is….This is an unusually busy Friday. Don’t bloggers go on vacations anymore or what? 🙂

Any experience with throwaway/hidden city ticketing on Southwest? Have to go out to Vegas for a bachelor party and see that a direct flight from BDL to LAS is $310/20k points and a flight to BDL-LAS-Long Beach is $193/11k points.
Was planning on using points and also flying back on Southwest. Have never done it and just wanted to see if people had any Southwest experience on here. I.E. Cancelling Flight Back.

That was me, that was me! It took multiple calls to recon to get it pushed through because I had an authorized user account that was pushing me to 5/24, but after two rejections they finally relented 🙂 Now I can finally go back to flooding my credit report with new accounts.

You broke the streak from hell, Jun 12 to 27 for just 57 cents. It’s like when an NFL team in danger of going 0-16 finally wins a game.
That darn AU issue. Apparently, the magic words to say is “I am not responsible for the payments on this card”. And of course, not give up. Good job!
I am almost there at the same spot, been a two year sloooow process to free me up for some Chase cards again as I reduce my balances. Ridiculous they are so high with devaluations accelerating.
Flexperks change today down to 1.5 cents per point fixed. There goes another one…

I did tell them I’m not responsible for payments on the AU card after the initial rejection, thought I was all set, was rejected again, and when I called in again they told me they recorded in their notes for the application re-evaluation that I “AM” responsible for the payments on that card. When I pointed out that it didn’t make sense that I would say that, and that they likely have a recording of our prior conversation they could check, they agreed it must be a typo so they carefully reviewed my credit history while I waited on hold for awhile, re-submitted it, and the next day the account appeared in my login.
I’m a little sad to be shut out of the good Chase cards for the foreseeable future, but I picked up all the good ones while I could. My Southwest companion pass that expires the end of this year will likely be the last one I ever see.
Congrats to you on almost being out of the Chase doghouse! It’ll feel both freeing and burdensome.
