We bring you a change for Delta Diamonds, visit Midwest breweries, read Spirit & World of Hyatt CEO interviews, thought leader Twitter fights, reiterate that New York City airports suck, learn about how to book award travel with Korean Air SKYPASS, Air Berlin imploding even more, go to Galapagos to go postal, marvel at Saturn, choke in Dust Bowls, rip some blogger “experts” with their non sense including bodily fluids and spinning ridiculous Delta changes as wins (WTF!!!!!!), the Emily baby is so mysterious, my wife’s car broke down and it was a 3+ hour ordeal towing it…why me? For the record, I am the unofficial miles and points blog critic and take a lot of crap. As all critics do! Biggest compliment ever given to me was “you are our BS filter”…I dig it. Be well.

Good reference post, it replaces the other one I had in my files. How to Book Award Travel With Korean Air SKYPASS.
I am shocked no other airline has stepped up to take over Air Berlin. That just goes to show you in what horrible state the company is amid industry over capacity problems too. Shoot, I am not an expert. I just have a blog. I guess I could try to pass of as one by doing an overly long bio and splashing everywhere what an expert I really am. Which is a bunch of BS. But hey, anyone can pass of as aviation expert these days. Whatever. Oh wait, Air Berlin came out with the bad news…Tick, tack…
Delta will now require $250,000 in credit card spend to waive the Skymiles Diamond Elite requirement. From $25,000. LOL. Will this lead to less credit cards being sold by bloggers? Nope. More on that in the BLOG BUZZ section 🙂
If you are interested in aviation and stuff like that, you would find the interview of the Spirit Airlines CEO more interesting than most of the click bait shit polluting bandwidth all over the place in the blogosphere…And here is part two of the interview. I declare The Cranky Flier a true travel thought leader 🙂
Things change and New York’s Airports are Still the Worst. It is getting a little better but, you know, La Guardia!

You know who I can’t stand even more than self proclaimed travel thought leaders and experts? Market Gurus! This anniversary is a reminder that some market gurus are full of it. If you get your investing advice from CNBC or Jim Cramer I am sorry for you. Best thing to do is to resist this crap and mess less with your portfolio. Easy? No way! I was once told by a prospective client that my investing style is not exciting. I stopped myself from laughing at his face, gently veered the meeting to an end, went outside and shook my head to oblivion. Some people just can not be helped. Sadly, this is a big chunk of the population. They probably click on credit card apps and shocking videos from Titan blogs too LOL.

If you see Grant, tell him it will be okay. It is a bank phase. It will pass. Or maybe not. My 8 Credit Card App-O-Rama Results (Mostly Bad News).
The new World of Hyatt guy who replaced Jeff Zidell was everywhere giving interviews. So many softball questions, zzzzz.
I got pissed on by View From The Wing. After he posted a post about piss because, deep down, he is a 13 year old at heart (his words). Amazing how 13 year olds think so often about bodily fluids and credit cards hey? Just going to drop these here, I could be posting about how CSP is my favorite card reason #897 woohoo!
Encourage Gary to write about credit card churning and put it on the headline! I hope no more shocking videos for your sake! Actually, the rest of the posts yesterday were decent. Improving the hobby, thank you very much. Oh, it won’t last long, you will see 🙂
A blog in the TOP of my Blogs To Ignore list is RenesPoints. No worries, it will remain on the top. I find that blog so offensive I steer clear because I do not want to ruin my day! Anyways, a blog reader sent me screenshots of what was posted on the blog about the Delta $250k decision. Thank you dear reader for reconfirming why I steer clear! Amazing but, please sit down, the blogger raved how “we won”, how “thrilled” he is with this change, you should have all Delta Amex cards which he sells, you can learn how to do all this spend at the Chicago Seminars if he attends his session, can always go to his mileage run (LOL) advice if you are such a lowly human being not to be able to spend $21k each month which he can do in his sleep (LOL), it is going to be an amazing Diamond Elite credit card selling year you guys. Breaking: Reader let me know the RP site is losing Amex affiliate links. Last time this happened all mentions of Amex cards just vanished and all links led to the other affiliate credit card links of the site, even after the link was labeled “Amex Cards”. Amazing! I still have my Amex links #winning. Waaaaaait, there is more! Blogger says he now can finally post what Amex does not want you to know. So basically, in a sense, all posts to date with Amex credit care links was stuff Amex wanted you to know because….#conversions. Nothing surprises me anymore…
I don’t understand how Million Mile ShutdownSecrets (MMS in TBBish) was bought for millions by Bankrate (wild guess in the ball park). The pic below, this pose, what does it all mean? WTF! Oh, by the way, the CSP card won. The CSP always wins. Most over rated card…with the highest sales commission, THINK!
MMS followed up by a blog post about buying baby stuff with, of course, travel rewards credit cards. Of course, Emily’s baby was mentioned! Hey, whatever can get readers to click on them credit cards! Suggestion: If you want to sell baby items, you know, having Emily pose pregnant may help. Sooooooo many pics of Emily but none pregnant. None! I am shaking my head. I got to move on. So, to wrap it up, Emily gets baby, Emily gets dog, Daraius gets more facial hair, TBB gets all their CSP clicks #winning (that fourth one is a fantasy, thanks for your support!).
I look back at this work and I feel so underpaid! You know I had to zip in that whining because it helps me feel better about myself 🙂
And I leave you with this…Rene about to sue TBB 🙂

Not following it…College sports does not excite me anymore…something about athletes pretending to be students or something like that…

I think there is a LOT more of that going on. I would not be surprised if the accused fight this

Welcome Renes Points readers:
You can use TBB’s Amex links but please see the link reflecting the Best Offers and avoid using the Amex links where you do not get the best offer available. I know, I know….you are not used to such advice!
Hope you stick around.
YOU always come first here. I come LAST and it shows….But that’s okay. Call it karma. Or idiocy (in me).
Just to make it clear, Delta’s policy change SUCKED and you just can’t sugar coat it in ANY way. It has been a pattern by this airline since they took over Northwest. Loyalty is dead. Hit them where it hurts….in the pocket book!

RP must be too busy to finish censoring comments yet. Pretty negative mostly, I liked this one:
“Dale Williams September 26, 2017 at 15:16
Rene,
You my friend, as a wealthy business owner, are showing your colors. For the uber rich and those who can put business expenses on Amex this is a win. For those of us who have been flying international long haul flights 7-8 times per year but not purchasing the high end tickets lose. Basicaly I feel like Delta doesn’t give a hoot about my loyality, only yours and other extremely weathly people. And please don’t give me a song and dance line about how I can spend $250K in a year. I cannot. You are right, Rene. You win and and common folks fliers like me lose. We are the ones being culled out. Deep down, this post is sorta disturbing. Not bitter, but a wakeup call. Maybe I should simply say goodbye here as well.”
Hell, if I had the time and patience to MS that much (or run my personal business costs through a card), I’d have to be a lunatic to put it on a friggin DL Amex card! Are you kidding me?
That’s hilarious he’s losing the Amex links.
TBBTheDude says
I agree on all counts 🙂

I think your friend Rene’s advice to MS 250k is solid, well thought out and makes complete sense. But that’s just me, and I had Ganja for breakfast.

Its really only a $1000 a day every day if you don’t MS on the weekends…. seems doable right?!

yea, who is that victim

That beer article was good, thanks for including that.
SOUTHWEST DRAGGING INCIDENT! Time to fire up the anti-ESA post while throwing in some links for good measure. I have just as much doubt about these allergy claimers as I do about some ESA animals. And we really don’t even know if it was ESA, the little fella could have bought his own $150 ticket.
Rene has to be hands down one of the easiest bloggers to make fun of from the BA consortium. From the Draconian censorship policies, team blocked on twitter, and his selfie habits. But I did give him a click today, searching for this silly Amex link losing news and his explanation… but I couldn’t find it. Care to enlighten me on the location of this info?
TBBTheDude says
He mentioned losing links on Twitter…Could be an excuse to drive some sales…it is the end of the month after all lol.

I’m conflicted on your recent MMS comments. On one hand they have certainly used their personal lives to pimp cards, but generally I don’t feel right about publicly questioning who the father is, etc. I don’t think it’s anybody’s business but their own.
And next time you twitwar with Leff you should point out the multitude of misspellings and grammatical errors that fill his professional ‘thot leeder’ posts.
TBBTheDude says
Right call on the VFTW grammar & misspellings.
On MMS and Emily pics: I have NEVER seen a blog use so many pics of her in all kind of strange settings (and some super strange poses). All over Instagram. And then BANG, a baby comes out. Soooooo, were all those Instagram pics fake? Misleading? Isn’t that treating your readers like morons? And then all the crap about now having to buy more tickets, obviously with travel rewards credit cards, what else? I bet most people reading that blog think these two are a lovely married couple living the dream telling friends and family (of course) how to travel for freeeee.
Today, they had the balls to post about how Bank of America may have its own restriction in approving credit cards apps. This from the blog that posted right away how many BofA Alaska cards you can do in ONE day (after ripping it from a seminar I think after being told to keep it quiet).
Remember the mother in law rule crap? Hey, ANYTHING TO SELL THE READERS CREDIT CARDS. Of course, the now former mother in law rule may want to kill him lol.
They pretend to show all about their life on the blog and social media and kept quiet for 9 months and now use the baby to sell more shit. Well, exsqueeeeeeze me, readers should be told what is going on. It’s like his buddy Drew at Travel Is Free suddenly, out of the blue, stopped blogging and did not feel like he should tell readers what’s going on.
When I stop here, after consultations with my legal consultants, I am going to go down with the yugest rant da internet has EVER seen. Of course it won’t come close to Rene who (in his words) broke the internet the other day…
I need to sped less time here….WTF!
Ryan says
Meh, they’re public figures putting bits of their personal lives out there to try and hawk their wares. The blog uses pics of her as a prop basically. She posted pics on a trip with her current (at least at the time) boyfriend and is now leveraging the baby, even a pic with Daraius that sort gives a certain impression. And all of this purely to try and sell a product. Hard to see why it’s a foul to ask who the lucky dad is. No one says she has to answer the question – and obviously she hasn’t, which is fine, too.

My response above.
Readers should be told what’s going on. If not, they should stop posting so many pictures of her EVERY day.
I can’t wait for the “Things to buy for baby with travel rewards credit cards and fly for freeeee”.
Yeah, I am in a little pissy mood today. Cooling fan broke in wife’s car. Darn Ford cars, can’t trust them lol. Then I was like an unpaid Uber drive driving around 3 16 year old girls…OMG, I survived it.
You all have a nice day.
