I was going to take this Tuesday off and just post once on Friday. But I want to especially thank the readers who went the extra step and supported my blog in the past and especially so far this month, thank you, this is for you. Not much commentary this time so here we go with the links, enjoy, see you Friday.
The Juror Who Found Herself Guilty
If you are going to read one thing today, please make it this one. The best story I have read online recently. By the end you may be crying, I sure did. I am not going to spoil anything.
Thank you to the writer and to Texas Monthly. I have featured many stories here over the years from Texas Monthly. The quality of their product is outstanding and I finally became a subscriber. We have to support outstanding work. If we don’t, they go away. And we all lose. And we are left with clickbait hideous shit expertly laid out to shock you and get your clicks. Please stop and Think Before You Click. Thank you. I highly encourage you to become a subscriber. And no I have not made a deal with them, I just don’t do this kind of stuff around here.
Who Was the Mysterious Woman Buried Alone at the Pet Cemetery?
Another one of those special stories. At Hartsdale Pet Cemetery, Ed Martin III had become accustomed to unusual requests. Then came Patricia Chaarte. The twist in the end was a big surprise and the story with it made a full circle. Here is the Archive link if the headline link does not work.

The Price of Netanyahu’s Ambition
Amid war with Hamas, a hostage crisis, the devastation of Gaza, and Israel’s splintering identity, the Prime Minister seems unable to distinguish between his own interests and his country’s. I never liked this guy. Can someone tell me why Mr. Security is still in charge in Israel? Ok, maybe don’t tell me. Excellent deep dive on this guy.
Winners of the People Photography Award Embrace the Diverse Beauty of Humanity
I want to leave you on an uplifting inspiring note. Some amazing photography featured here. I found the one to share below that reminds me how I attack a spinach pie when I see one lol.
Impossible no more, Detroit: Fans rejoice as Lions keep unprecedented playoff run rolling
I have to sneak this in. Because what we are experiencing in the Detroit area with the Detroit Lions is something we have been dreaming for decades! Second playoff win, which has not happened since 1957 and it just feel surreal. In the past week we have had two playoffs wins, more than this team ever experienced since the NFL was created. We have all managed to get hurt with this team for so long that when you are just one win away from the Superbowl feels like an orgasmic dream that you don’t want it to end. The Roar has (finally) been Restored.
Let me leave you with this:

You guys, remember the old Lions fan who dyed his hair blue in hospice care? Well, amazingly, I know his son, he just posted about it on Facebook! He was the main writer in Investment News and know him for years….What a small world!

Another horrible GDP number. Recession is around the corner AGAIN. Permabears keep winning. Haven’t watched the NFL since Brady retired. Stopped watching the NBA when Jordan retired. Stopped watching the NHL when Gretzky retired. Will stop watching (OK, only payed attention when Zlatan played) MLS when Messi retires. Started watching PL again when offensive and pressing soccer showed up (thanks Pep and Saudi $$$!). Wake me up when someone beats these legends and I may pay attention. Or change the style of play. Seriously NFL is far to QB centric. You can barely touch the QB. I need to be entertained to watched sports.

Yeah, Bideonomics is ruining America lol.
Pro club soccer kind of bores me, so much $$$. I just watch my Greek hometown soccer team and love national team games, you know, World Cup. I have not watched a hockey game…ever. I watch a baseball game live only when I burn Capital One points for good seats. I could not endure to watch a baseball game on TV. I watched the MLS Cup final and it was great. And, come on, Detroit Lions playing in….January!!! Good for our souls, we have been to the depths of unspeakable misery for decades.

Next Super Bowl should have snow! Enough with warm places.
Minor league baseball, in person can be fun. Can’t stand MLB on TV.
Funny how banks were taking advantage of the Fed’s emergency lending program……
I’m surprised the same banks haven’t cracked down on shenanigans by our community.
