Who says my blog is US centric? 🙂 |
ON MY MIND
What can I say…I am receiving a perk from Klout, a brand new Sony Walkman W. Hey, I ‘ll take it! For full disclosure noble purposes, this is NOT an affiliate link! If you ever see an affiliate link in this blog, rest assured that I will disclose the crap out of it!
I am so torn what to do with my blog! The last two days have had the highest number of page views! It has become a little bit of an obsession I must admit…#developing
MILES/POINTS
The Daily Getaways are back and I already see bloggers raving about it! And it’s only March when the “deals’ will happen in June! This was blogged to oblivion last year and the deals were mostly crappy and then you needed to break your fingers refreshing your screen to have the honor to buy one! My rationale is I already have millions in miles/points I have a super hard time burning and then they want me to pay to buy more? I already spend enough time on my computer the last thing I need is to keep clicking “Refresh”.
The US Bank twitter team actually came through that someone will call me about my wife’s Club Carlson Visa application. A very nice lady called us today to tell us their procedure (ARS automated review first) and that they made an exception, excellent credit, approved, card was mailed. Very nice comeback. I think Club Carlson cards are keepers. Hopefully the quality of the hotels improve as they have some way to go! A second Radisson Blu is opening in the US at the Mall of America for all readers who are into shopping!
I am breaking the news on the mother of all mileage runs! Yes, I am talking millions and millions of miles, 0 cpm, FREE! There is a line in the tiny fine print: “It is a one-way trip to Mars”. Yeah, you are not coming back! The TBB super reliable investigative team confirmed that the miles to be credited are fully transferable to your heirs without a fee! Learn all the details “People willing to die on Mars“. If you volunteer, I would like to interview you:-)
American Airlines has a new Award Map feature. It is designed to make it easier to redeem AA miles. I am sure Delta is working on it too lol. (HT to AAdvantage Geek)
Street Smart Traveler had a nice little post on Flyertalk on how to make Feedly look like Google Reader. I am moving to Feedly before Google Reader dies on July 1st. It appears the go to choice!
TRAVEL
Here is another Best Rate Guarantee website. I believe this is the one that has been around for ever? The one I posted yesterday is new and I honestly thought it was this! Thanks to reader iahphx for letting me know in the comments!
ODDZ & ENDZ
New video by the North Koreans. Check out the voice tone & always ridiculous claims. Mega LOL material as always.
25 of the most amazing (and colorful) animal eyes I’ve ever seen. From Francesco Mugnai. Wow
How did you get a perk? They’re always sold out or something stupid (free Fish Bits at McDonalds!)
I have a score in the lower 60s. I check the site once a day. Every once in a while I get a stupid perk. I think only two previous perks had been somewhat worthwhile: a Red Bull sample and magazine (I like the magazine) and some other sample I forgot what it was:-)
I am guessing they pick the right demographics & send invitations out and it is then first come first serve? I have no idea how this site works. I am hoping I get more perks in the future because I like free stuff:-)
“I am so torn what to do with my blog!”
…just a flash in a pan. Just a flash in a pan… Now that you’ve got the rants about affiliate links out of your system, you’ve got little left to offer. The stories about your personal life and the links to news stories… don’t really cut it and you know it.
Blogger, please!?
Go back to the shithole you crawled out of and being an internet beggar with your link farm.
I think TheBBBuzz is jealous:-) Every blog earns its haters I guess lol. You are always welcome to post your comments here and get me one step closer to Bent Offers affiliate links. I appreciate your support:-)
MickeyW, from this comment and other comment I’ve seen you make… it really sounds like you might want to get your anger issues worked out sooner rather than later.
Yes I am working on it and as you can see it is working 🙂
You sound like a reject from MMS though. Let me finish with what some of the modern day beggars/trolls and hacks do. Pollute the community first, spread link farms and then say “Can’t we all just get along?”. LOL.
So, anonymous, let me do my thing in the meantime while I am working my anger issues. Can we not just get along?
Maybe I should refer MickeyW to my therapist, she is really good:-) I am seeing her more often lately. She advises me to get my “Not So Best Of” feature back on the blog, I appeared more in peace with it…she says:-)
LOL, straight and narrow George 🙂
MickeyW, assumptions… Assumptions. Tisk, tisk. You really should know better. Where is this link farm that you speak of. No, really. I am genuinely confused.
Do you toss the world ‘troll’ at every person who has a negative opinion and expresses it? Is that really the only response that you’re capable of giving? Troll this and troll that! I’ve got news for you: not everyone is going to like everything that they read. The Internet is full of dissatisfied people.
You and “anonymous” come out of your cave calling out a blog that critiques the link farmers and other stupidity that has exploded and gradually making the game less fun. I don’t need to know whether you are a troll or frustrated wannabe beggar with hopes of links one day.
Before looking at my anger issues, you phags need to look at your loser like careers/life and the mutating moral cancer in your pea-brains.
Can we not get along?
The chart at the top is 100% accurate, by the way! We should give it out at immigration.
I was hoping to get your confirmation, thanks! I knew you would get a kick out of it;-)
Isn’t the key question today ‘Is Gary in the 1%?’!
No doubt;-)
At least Gary reported his results ‘cycling’ the funds to get the points. When TPG wrote about this deal he claimed he “borrowed” the money “from family.” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH
Really? I missed that, thanks. I think Brian should change the name of his blog to “The Credit Card Guy” as he has been stepping on the gas/affiliate links lately to the max!
I still have not gotten used to the British greeting, “You all right?” Every time they say that I instinctively wonder if I sound/look like something is wrong.
Lol, thanks for the comment!
Ha! Well as a Brit, I can’t get over the American greeting “what’s up?” I mean, what does that mean? I keep looking up to see “what’s up”? I mean what is actually up? Now of course the proper British greeting is “Alright mate?” 🙂
“I am so torn what to do with my blog!”
Come on, just introduce those affiliate links. EVERYBODY is doing it. It may fee dirty, don’t just dip your toe in, go ALL the way. You’ll be alright.
Lol, this made me laugh, thanks! So…you are saying, you would click the s**t out of my affiliate links then? Hmm, I could see all this money coming in…I can do so much for charity:-)
Just wait a few months. It’ll happen. It’ll start with Amazon links and then move on to credit card links. George has got bills to pay too.
Just hired help to work on the site. Get ready for payback lol.
Awesome British interpreter chart! Is this your own creation?
My own creation? Of course not, I am not that talented! I found it somewhere online and I am embarassed to say I can not remember where! I thought it was worthy of posting here as I had trouble coming up with a worthy travel pic yesterday!
Posting a copy without attribution?! That’s worse than pushing credit card links! But it’s a great chart!
Yeah I know, I still feel bad about it. It is I think the only time I did this! But I posted it because it was for the greater benefit of my readers. The one who created it should feel free to track me down and will edit accordingly or will take it down:-)
Agreed on the Daily Getaways. I read the recent post about using a DG package to the Mirage in Vegas (you can figure out the blog), and had to close the tab. That’s not value or a deal; that’s being suckered into consuming average products one wouldn’t otherwise touch for the wholesale price.
harvson3
It is really hard to come up with new content. So, when deals like that come along, it creates an opportunity for bloggers to post an easy new blog post. And this DG will offer the opportunity to create several blogs posts, a blogger godsend! This was a lucrative deal before the bloggers blogged the crap out of it last year. I expect the same this year as we are more than 3 months away and they already started blogging about it. The more this gets blogged the lesser the appeal of the deal and the lesser the chance of actually getting it after getting cramps from hitting the Refresh button non stop.
Easy content—->less incentive to come up with new creative content—->easier justificiation to add another credit card filler post. Rinse and repeat.
As always, thanks for posting. Your commentary is always spot on.
For some reason, nobody emailed me for an interview after agreeing to go die on Mars lol.
That Mirage package deal was insane. Not for everyone, but we got a tremendous value out of it, and I would absolutely buy it again…if I won the “refresh” lottery. Then again, I go to Vegas anyway so would buy many of those products (shows, dinners, limos, hotel, etc). The only downside to Daily Getaways is the almost lotteryish limited quantities.
Can’t help with the die on Mars interview thing though. 😉
We’ll leave it at de gustibus non est disputandum.
harvson3
Ha ha, fair enough and true more often than not. 😉
This exchange was wonderful, love you both:-)
I typically get crappy Klout perk offers too. Maybe it’s because I seldom check it any more after seeing the first few that were offered.
I was shocked, just shocked of the perk offer I got yesterday! I kept reading to see the surprise in the tiny fine print. Miraculously, there was none!
As a Brit myself, I have to say this chart is absolutely 100% spot on!
